With four force sensors underneath the trackpad surface, you’ll be able to click anywhere and have the Trackpad detect subtle pressure differences you apply for added functionality with Force Touch. The edge-to-edge glass surface area is almost 30% larger than the previous generation Magic Trackpad, so you’ll have more space to use multi-touch gestures. The Magic Trackpad 2 is also rechargeable, thanks to a built-in battery which can run for up to a month on a single charge. This allows it to have a lower profile, which makes scrolling and swiping more comfortable.

I’ve been debating this purchase for awhile now. I finally decided to buy it along side my new IMac. This trackpad feels so much better than the older generations. I wish I would have bought it sooner! It feels comparable to the current MacBook Pro trackpad.

I’m left handed, and so finding a good mouse can be a struggle. The Apple Magic Mouse is great for fine-tune work, but for the bulk of jobs it ends up not working out. That’s where the trackpad 2 comes in! First, it’s huge, so you have plenty of real estate to work with. But at the same time, the footprint is still smaller than a mouse and mousepad, so if you’re in a tight desk area it’s great. I also love that it charges via a port on the back (not the bottom like the mouse.) I would definitely recommend this!

I replaced my old trackpad with this new version. It is a nice upgraded size. About a 125% upsize. I did notice there is a slight difference in function to adjust to. However, the new one is definitely a better version.

This trackpad is excellent. I was using a Macbook (late 2013 with its trackpad), and purchased an iMac. I chose this product over the mouse (Magic 2). The wireless feature and large area are the best features in my opinion. I don’t use Force Touch at all. I don’t see the need. Perhaps the software hasn’t yet been developed to take advantage of it. The trackpad surface is at the same height as the keys on the new keyboard. They site nicely adjacent to each other. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I now have a Chromebox for my desktop computer and use this standalone Apple Track pad with it. All of the Google gestures are supported, the Track pad is very comfortable to use, takes much less valuable desk space than a mouse pad, is a snap to pair with the Chromebox and looks good too.

I bought this to replace the older version of the Trackpad and am glad I did. Not only is it functionally more capable, but the surface is very smooth – fingers slide and glide easily. Also, not having to replace batteries is great! Highly recommended!

I recently purchased this item to accompany my new iMac. I dislike using a mouse and found that the trackpad works almost as well as the keyboard on my MacBookPro. I’m still learning to master the trackpad and hope I’ll succeed soon. That’s the only reason I’ve rated this a 4 instead of a 5.

It is a good product. One of the most important reason I buy this is because it provides smooth scrolling. In addition, it is of good quality and provides consistent Mac user experience. Compared with the first generation, force touch technology makes it easier and more comfortable to click. I know lots of old Mac users loves 3 finger drag rather than click drag. But I have to say because force touch, I don’t have to use tap as click, and my hand stays longer on Magic Trackpad to rest without worrying about wrongly click. In a word, I love my Magic Trackpad 2.
