Bring Force Touch to your Mac with the space gray Apple Magic Trackpad 2. With four force sensors underneath the trackpad surface, you’ll be able to click anywhere and have the Trackpad detect subtle pressure differences you apply for added functionality with Force Touch. The edge-to-edge glass surface area is almost 30% larger than the previous generation Magic Trackpad, so you’ll have more space to use multi-touch gestures. The Magic Trackpad 2 is also rechargeable, thanks to a built-in battery which can run for up to a month on a single charge. This allows it to have a lower profile, which makes scrolling and swiping more comfortable.
Magic Trackpad 2 pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work right away.

It’s super useful when I connect my macbook to external monitors. It has a larger area than the touchpad in the macbook and works even greater.

The Trackpad 2 works extremely well. It’s quite large, which makes for comfortable navigation. I like that it has a rechargeable battery. You can plug it into the computer’s USB port. The old Trackpad had AA batteries. They’re cheap and easy to replace but when they go dead you have to have another pair with you. On the downside, the B&H salesman warned me that when the Trackpad 2’s internal battery wears out (in 2-3 years?), I’ll probably have to buy a whole new trackpad. The battery is not user-replaceable and paying parts and labor to install a new one might not be much less than the Trackpad itself.

This product has a solid build and also out performs the old generation. Would recommend this to everyone.

This trackpad 2 is sooo good ! I no longer need to maneuver the mouse and be frustrated that it did not respond. With this trackpad, I can easily move my fingers, not my whole hand, and be a lot more productive than using my mouse.

It’s fantastic in working with my LG Ultra Fine monitor.

Works better than the mouse in some of the applications.

I haven’t used a desktop on a regular basis for years, so converting to an iMac from a MacPro allows me to easily continue my work without needing to struggle with a mouse (although, I got that too). The trackpad 2 is easy to use and I love the large real estate it offers vs. the traditional trackpad on a mac pro.

Arrived quickly and works as it should. This was a replacement for one smashed by a toddler throwing a tantrum. Thanks!

This is the type of device that won’t grab everyone, but is incredible in the right circumstance. Overpriced? Probably, but that doesn’t disqualify the product itself from being a 9.5/10. The space grey is very nice but know that it doesn’t match black decor. From an engineering perspective this thing is a tour de force in elegant design. Only when you turn off the trackpad can you notice that this is a slab of metal and glass with no moving parts. Haptics and force touch are both natural and fully adjustable in System Preferences. No complaints about battery life. The surface area is more than enough. Only missing feature is that I’d love to use this thing as a drawing “tablet” with my Apple Pencil! macOS was, in many ways, built to be interacted with using a trackpad; pinch-to-zoom and horizontal scrolling have changed the way I interact with my computer, especially the simple programs like Preview that are clunkier with keyboard commands. These are features usually reserved to the “small screen” of laptops… using the same features on a 27″ monitor (I have a Mac mini) just hits DIFFERENT. No more janky scroll-wheel steps, over scrolling… everything feels precise and snappy. Nothing beats swiping between Spaces and full-screen apps with four fingers. The main ergonomic benefit of a wireless trackpad like this is how you can just move it to the left or right of your keyboard, splitting the work across your arms and wrists seamlessly. This is “possible” with a symmetrical mouse, but those devices hurt your wrists after extended use. I’m constantly moving this thing on my desk, picking it up and walking around the room when my current task doesn’t require the keyboard. Love it! For users of Microsoft Remote Desktop to interact with Windows machines (I highly recommend this by the way, it’s good!) – scrolling and clicks work just fine. You won’t get pinch-to-zoom or any advanced features but it is entirely usable. My final tip: go into Accessibility and turn on “Three finger drag.” No clue why this isn’t the default behavior as I use it constantly.

For over 10 years I’ve been using an Apple laptop and the track pad on laptops are great. At home I connect my 13in. rMBP to an LG 27in. monitor and using the trackpad is a great plus. I can use the same gestures I’m use to on my laptop. Easy to setup, long batterly life, easy to use.

I love using the large trackpad on y 2019 MacBook Pro. This feels just like it, and I can place it anywhere. Holds a charge FOREVER! I bought the keyboard and it’s just as good! A must have.
