The space gray Apple Magic Wireless Keyboard with Numeric Keypad features an extended layout with document navigation and full-size arrow keys. The numeric keypad also allows for faster input of numbers, especially useful for spreadsheets and finance applications.
Each key features a scissor mechanism that allows for increased stability as well as optimized key travel. The low-profile design also provides a comfortable typing experience. The Magic Keyboard has a built-in battery that can power it for up to a month on a single charge (battery life may vary). When the battery is running low, you can recharge it with the included Lightning to USB cable.

Very disappointed in this keyboard. I really like using Apple keyboards, but will have to change after this experience. The keyboard died within two months of taking possession. I was using it with a new M1 Mac Mini. The wired connection stopped working so I assumed the rechargeable battery need charging. I charged it overnight, checked that the Mini bluetooth was on, and tried to connect. The Mini could not establish a connection by bluetooth. I just processed a return request with B&H and assume there service will be just as outstanding as it has been in the past.

Apple’s old (original) bluetooth wireless keyboard has a bit more noticeable key “travel” and greater resistance and “springiness” than this new bluetooth keyboard. I use both. The new Magic Keyboard is noisier in a hollow way and has less travel than the older keyboard. My advice to Apple is “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” or attempt to. The only clear advantage of the new Apple Magic Keyboard is that it is much more compact, has a lower profile while still maintaining a bit of a slant angle for typing, and does not use AA batteries that can die. This is USB cable rechargeable. It pairs wirelessly to an iOS device (iPhone or iPad) or pairs wired to a computer. The space between the keys is about the same as the older one, but the overall size is smaller than the older keyboard. Functionally, it works fine. But somehow even though it looks cool, it is less “satisfying” to type on than the old Keyboard, but I’m not entirely sure why that is. Perhaps because of the lack of tactile resistance, the noise, or the lack of springiness than the older one.

Great product that has totally changed how I interact with my iPad Pro. As the iPad is my primary machine, this has revolutionized how I interact with it from reduction and touching the screen, to being able to quickly command certain aspects of the software through keystrokes or the touchpad. I was on the fence, but I’m glad that I purchased it. Apple has a homerun with this product and can only improve this in the future.

Recently purchased an Apple Bluetooth wireless keyboard with numeric keypad to go with a new iMac computer. Very pleased with the keyboard. It links to the computer (running High Sierra) every time. And the battery is rechargeable so no problems there. Just plug it in to a USB port from time to time to charge. The computer shows the keyboard under the Bluetooth pull down menu at upper right on the screen including the charge state of the battery. Very convenient. I had an older Apple wireless keyboard. It would not reliably connect to the computer and the batteries would run down when you least expected them to. A pain. I switched back to a USB keyboard. But this keyboard is a keeper.

Actually worth the money

Am very pleased with the key board. I needed to enter numbers in a program and changing to upper case for numeric input is slow

So far this keyboard has met my expectations. It connects perfectly with my MacBook Pro. The feel of the keys is pleasant and not too loud. Light weight when working without a desk, and easy to balance.

Keyboard works, and new key mechanics are much improved. No backlight. Also, I really need just a wired keyboard as it connects with a kvm but apple no longer makes one (and the alternative was terrible). This thing insists on pairing with Bluetooth all the time so the KVM setup works only sometimes. Also a bit ridiculous they don’t offer this model in space gray, to match the trackpad.

I love this new version as always Apple knocks it out of the park. It has a rechargeable version which I live since I work on it every day. I wish I had known about this item earlier. Get yous today. I love B & H.

I love the keyboard. It connects quickly and stays connected. The battery only needs charged every couple of weeks with heavy usage

Ordering was a breeze. Came on time. Working great and although it adds weight to the iPad like reviews read not as much as the previous keyboard i was using. I really like this.

This will mostly be opinionated but iPad Pro magic keyboard is a better overall experience than my 15″ 2018 MacBook Pro. Feels more natural as a mobile device and nearly just as powerful as my MacBook Pro.. just the lacking OS for more pro software. But once apple updates to silicon series chipsets I wouldn’t be surprised if they overhaul all apps and allow Xcode to be run on the iPad. At that point, no need for MacBook. My point being that magic keyboard and iPad Pro duo feels great, great typing experience, solidifies it more as a pro device and eagerly getting close to MacBook Pro territory in terms of performance.

The thing about Apple made peripherals are build quality and incredibly tight integration with the Apple Ecosystem. It just works. It would be been the absolute best if the keys had a bit of travel; right now the typing experience feels a bit flat.

I appreciate the functionality this adds to the ipad pro. I hope it has longevity as a case and keyboard. This will up my notetaking ability at meetings while still allowing me to remove the case to use the ipad for drawing. I wish I didn’t have to take the entire case off. Note that the case/keyboard does not flip all the way around and it must be taken off to use as a drawing tablet so the ipad then has to be used caseless.
