The space gray Apple Magic Wireless Keyboard with Numeric Keypad features an extended layout with document navigation and full-size arrow keys. The numeric keypad also allows for faster input of numbers, especially useful for spreadsheets and finance applications.
Each key features a scissor mechanism that allows for increased stability as well as optimized key travel. The low-profile design also provides a comfortable typing experience. The Magic Keyboard has a built-in battery that can power it for up to a month on a single charge (battery life may vary). When the battery is running low, you can recharge it with the included Lightning to USB cable.

I’ve had my Mac for 7 years now and I’ve always missed the numeric key pad. That and the standard keyboard is just too narrow to use in bed or in my lap. To me it’s stressful to use it anywhere but on a table, (a place I’m never at with a computer). Then I bought this is and it’s wonderful in comparison. The extra width makes it very relaxing to use in bed or in my lap. I do lay a couple of strips of TheraBand elastic exercise bands across my legs to stop it from sliding around. Excellent bluetooth. I can sync it with my phone in just a few seconds and use it for long emails or business when on the road. Battery life is months. Cons: No backlight, I wanted better tactile response from the keys, (although it gets better with use, there is a learning curve). And I wanted more sculpted keys. Either way I’d buy it again.

The Apple Magic Keyboard has been one of the best, if not the best extra purchases for my 2020 M1 Macbook Pro. Everything about it has been stellar. From the typing experience, aesthetics, minimal footprint, and comfort. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss my numerical keypad section but that was a choice I made to minimize the footprint (The Apple Magic Keyboard is offered with or without this keypad section). Battery life is also more than exceptional. I’ve had this setup over bluetooth since the end of May 2021. Current battery life is 69 percent!
