The space gray Apple Magic Wireless Keyboard with Numeric Keypad features an extended layout with document navigation and full-size arrow keys. The numeric keypad also allows for faster input of numbers, especially useful for spreadsheets and finance applications.
Each key features a scissor mechanism that allows for increased stability as well as optimized key travel. The low-profile design also provides a comfortable typing experience. The Magic Keyboard has a built-in battery that can power it for up to a month on a single charge (battery life may vary). When the battery is running low, you can recharge it with the included Lightning to USB cable.

First of all – the keyboard leaves no wishes open: Illuminated keys, touchpad, sturdy build which will protect the device, charging can be done through the keyboard, Device turns automatically on when the screen gets tilted (step 2 after opening), keys have enough depth to give a good type feeling. But what I really like about it is the sturdiness: You can open it, and put it onto your lap starting working. It is not like the other flappy things which fall apart once starting to type and which can simply not being used otherwise. Unfortunately this great feature comes also with a price: When you are trying to use the iPad in portrait mode, you want most likely to peel the tablet out of the keyboard folder as it is a tad awkward to use the tablet as a tablet. One comment for Apple to make it perfect: The plug for the USB-C charger in the keyboard is a round tube. Why not allow the user to put the pen in there for travelling? The UI got changed to be a bit playful when using the touchpad: E.g. when hovering the cursor (which is only a round circle) over e.g. icons, they wiggle around. Nice touch! Even though I wished that a Tap (like on a pc) is doing the click and not a real click would be required. What it didn’t do however was to give the device a more Pro feeling as the software is still the same (e.g. using Lightroom gives you still only the mobile version on a ~13 notebook screen with the limited feature set. Even moreso – I was astounded to see that even simpler programs like the gMail web version shows up only as the mobile version. Unfortunately there is a downside to this great keyboard: It is the magic price. One can get a nice notebook these days for the keyboard alone which is equally thin (or even thinner) than the iPad sandwich and can run really Pro applications with more features.

We recently purchase MacBook Pro and needed to set-up a work station for my work area. Thanks B&H for providing access to a great keyboard with fast and efficient service.

I LOVE my new black keyboard. The pressure and feedback of the keys are very responsive, and there’s good travel depth. The layout is fantastic, and the symmetrical control, option, and command keys on both sides are great. I was dreaming in having one, and here aI am with the best. Thanks

I have two of these, one for home and one for the office. Always awake, small and I can’t remember the last time I had to charge the battery.

Super glad Apple finally introduces a full size rechargeable key board. The new scissor technology (individual keys) makes typing a breeze!

It’s not the best keyboard in terms of typing experience. But it’s so pretty you forgive it. Connection is really easy as well.

I purchased this very overpriced keyboard from B&H because they had it available for slightly cheaper than Apple. It works like any other bluetooth keyboard but it has the advantage of being Made for/by Apple so you have the familiar key layout and markings. It seems to have a rather long battery life and it’s nice that it charges via an Apple lightning port which is perfect for people fully in the ecosystem. It doesn’t work quite like the keyboard on my MacBook Air which is definitely strange but it does the job. I’m typing on it right now.

I have been an Apple fan since the beginning. And usually I like apple products for their design and quality of manufacturing. This time not. The keys have a terrible tactile feeling, clattery and without any keystroke feedback. The lettering is impossible to read in all but bright light. And where keyboard meets the case, there is a surprisingly sharp edge; enough to fear a paper cut. The Bluetooth connection has been great so far. So for the not insignificant price, I think Apple laid a rotten apple on on this one.

love the keyboard

I will always buy Apple hardware, mostly because of its longer shelf life. I guess that expectation of support from Apple makes the Magic Keyboard’s inability to work with previous OS generations feel like a super gotcha. Other than that, I like it.

Lettered layout is same as the standard keyboard but space bar is a bit longer because up, down, right & left navigational arrows are further right next to numeric key pad freeing up that area. Using this for my big computer now and the smaller keyboard is perfect for my iPad. Bluetooth paired up in seconds. I do not have the sagging problem that some have mentioned in their reviews, store associate said this is the second version and issue probably eliminated. Nothing bad to say about this keyboard, wish I had gotten it sooner!

As with all Apple products, this keyboard is a nice piece of equipment, although it seems to me that you should get the full version with the numeric keypad when you buy an IMac and not just the small one without. My only quibble is that it lacks the little folding feet to elevate and angle the keyboard. I had to buy a separate piece to do that. I had purchased a Logitech initially, but for iinexplicable reasons, although sold and recommended by the Apple store, it has a major deficiency. There is no cap lock indicator, an important feature when entering passwords. To make the Logitech story worse, the software they offer to provide some visual indicator of cap lock is rejected by the IMac as incompatible. Go figure.

Since I WFH and use a MBP, I needed another external keyboard. I like that it is bluetooth, so no dongle! No lags, always connects. Plus it looks great.
