The space gray Apple Magic Wireless Keyboard with Numeric Keypad features an extended layout with document navigation and full-size arrow keys. The numeric keypad also allows for faster input of numbers, especially useful for spreadsheets and finance applications.
Each key features a scissor mechanism that allows for increased stability as well as optimized key travel. The low-profile design also provides a comfortable typing experience. The Magic Keyboard has a built-in battery that can power it for up to a month on a single charge (battery life may vary). When the battery is running low, you can recharge it with the included Lightning to USB cable.

I’m loving the Magic Keyboard, joining ipad and keyboard in this way was a great idea. Practical, very efficient and protects the ipad. It’s a little heavy, but it doesn’t bother you.

Great keyboard – nice typing experience, connects to my Macbook well, battery lasts quite a while, light and convenient. Just wish it wasn’t so expensive 🙁

Love these keyboards. I’ve been using them for years. I especially like the new black one, matches my desk better.

The feel of this touch is very good. And the color of the keyboard is super cool

The build quality is typical Apple good, the keyboard is excellent (much has been written about it and the implementation in the new Macbook versions). It is very easy to detach the iPad from the keyboard and putting it back on. Always in place and I have never had issues that it would be too loose; the magnets are strong. However, there are a several negatives. It starts with opening the iPad, there is nothing like the little opening under the trackpad of traditional MacBooks, so each time I am fiddling around to open it (the magnets are really strong). Next, the adjustable angle is very limited, good enough for reading but as soon as working on the lap it is not far enough. The trackpad works but it feels like an old version of the very first laptops. It klicks loud and is far away from what one is used nowadays from MacBooks. The main limitation is weight, though. This is sooooo heavy, that I am considering buying a lightweight case without keyboard for traveling so I do not need to take the keyboard with me. But then, why did I buy it, in the end to leave my Macbook at home and have a lightweight device that could do most of the work for normal travel and for even most business trips. It is definitely not this. Taken together, there is nearly no advantage compared to my MacBook Pro 13, except having a touchscreen, however that comes along with all the limitations of the iPad vs a MacOS driven computer. I assume Apple fears following Microsoft with their Surface or all other PC manufacturers with their touchscreen laptops like the Carbon X1, however, a Macbook with a touchscreen is still what I want the most and would be the best solution for myself. For simple app use (credit cards, airlines, email, weather, …), I do have my iPhone, for most of the work application, the Macbook is still in the lead by far compared to the iPad (think about the file server limitations even on google drive, etc.). I don’t miss the function keys row, as I programmed the escape key onto the command key and for changing volume and brightness I use the usual iPad options. Now as I have it, I will use it and the use will be fun (the iPad Pro is still the best tablet out there in my view), however, the keyboard feels like an unsatisfying fix solution and it is more like a duplication of the Macbook with many caveats but an additional touchscreen.

For those of us who have used Apple’s first gen wireless keyboard for years, this new Magic Wireless Keyboard feels very much like home – familiar and comfortable. But it also feels like home was recently remodeled. Changing batteries in the old wireless keyboard was easy but often seemed to happen at inopportune moments (like the middle of an email, for example). The fact that you can charge this new Magic Wireless keyboard directly from the computer is great! You notice that it’s low on battery power so you grab your now ubiquitous Lightning cable and plug it into the Mac. Problem gone. Those of us who regularly work with numbers love the keypad. If missed the keypad from the old wired keyboard so I had purchased a separate LMP Wireless Keypad that attached to the right side of the 1st gen wireless. It was a good addition, but it also requires its own AA batteries so the same issue occurred (batteries dying at inconvenient moment). So congrats to Apple for bringing the keypad back. Great remodel.

Of coarse the Apple products are excellent and the key action is close to perfection. What really impresses me is the quality of the merchant I purchased the item from, B&H. The best products and the best service. An absolute pleasure to do business with such a high quality merchant. Thanks B&H!!

I love this keyboard. The keys are nice and spaced apart and really smooth to type. The battery seems to last a long time between charges.

This keyboard works out perfectly for my iPad Pro 12.9. I love the following features: 1) iPad/keyboard interface without a bluetooth; 2) the great multi gesture trackpad; 3) the full size, backlit keyboard without a need of battery. 4) This keyboard enhances the functionality of iPad Pro and make it more useful. Some shortcomings: 1) the weight of the keyboard is a little heavy. 2) a little pricey.

….it connected more quickly to the computer (Bluetooth connection is lagging) ….the markings of the keys did not fade so quickly …. it lasted longer than a year (especially for the price).

A little pricey for something that used to be standard, but the numeric keypad is great and the keys have decent responsiveness for my purposes. Glad to have it.

Upgraded from the old 2013 Apple Wireless Keyboard to this one and I like the scissor switch keys on this one way more than the chiclet style keys on my old keyboard. There is a nice feel to it and the Space Gray color fits the trackpad. With the numeric keypad, the trackpad is a little more off to the right than before, but I’ll get used to it.

Love the feel and quality of the keyboard. It has met my expectations according to the specs and the advertisement. However it does drain the battery quite a bit.

This is my first wireless keyboard with a numeric extension. It is perfect when entering many numbers into documents and spreadsheets. I do not know how I have gotten by with just a keyboard. This is worth your consideration when in the market for a new or replacement keyboard for your Mac.
