Built with the same form factor as the iPad mini 4, but up to three time more processing power, the 7.9″ iPad mini from Apple has been upgraded with the A12 Bionic chip with Neural Engine, a 7.9″ Retina display with True Tone, and Apple Pencil support, so you can sketch and jot down ideas as they come to you. This iPad mini is just 0.24″ thin, weighs 0.66 pounds, can store up to 256GB of data, and comes in a space gray finish.
The tablet’s 7.9″ Retina Display features a native resolution of 2048 x 1536, showing over 3 million pixels at 326 ppi. It also features support for the P3 wide color gamut, an anti-reflective coating with 1.8% reflectivity, 500 cd/m2 brightness, and True Tone, which dynamically adjusts white balance for more natural looking images. The Retina Display’s capacitive touchscreen lets you utilize all the multi-touch gestures of iOS.
The mini is driven by Apple’s 64-bit A12 Bionic processor with Neural Engine, which allows it to use real-time machine learning to recognize patterns, make predictions, and learn from experience. All of this lets you run apps like Adobe Photoshop CC, experience augmented reality, or play games with immersive graphics.
Accompanied by the A12 chip is the M12 motion coprocessor, which measures the motion of the iPad via the accelerometer, three-axis gyroscope, and compass, lightening the load of the A12 Bionic chip and freeing it up to process multiple tasks while enabling it to maintain fast performance. The iPad mini may have the Retina Display, but it still manages to maintain its 10-hour battery life. That’s because the A12 chip isn’t just more powerful; it’s also more efficient.
The iPad mini comes with iOS and Touch ID. Designed for the iPad, iOS features News, enhanced multitasking, a shortcut bar, editing tools, updated multi-touch gestures, and more. Touch ID uses your fingerprint to unlock your device as well as make secure purchases in iTunes, iBooks, the App Store, and more via Apple Pay.
Thanks to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.0, the iPad mini can connect to your network and integrate with iCloud, so you can sync your iPad mini to your other iOS devices and Mac computers. Push photos, download apps, and continue from where you left off in iBooks with iCloud. iCloud also offers cloud storage so you can back up your contacts, photos, and important documents to Apple’s cloud servers. You can also restore your iPad mini to a previous state using iCloud.
This iPad comes preloaded with iOS. Please check your device settings for the latest available update.

I had 2nd version of iPad so getting this upgrade is awesome. I like to mostly stream movies and Read News+ magazines collection. My WSJ subscription doesn’t allow me to use iPad app and not in a mood to upgrade the subscription for that purpose alone. Very happy with this buy. Didn’t get the pencil as I don’t use it for taking notes.

B&Delivered the IPAD in the blink of an eyelash. However, Apple seems to think customers must be up to THEIR standards. They include NO instructions. They do not include any information on what is in the box. You have to guess at what every button does. Their packaging can look like containers that MIGHT contain a easy start sheet. It took us a long time to get it up and running because of their requirement that customers thoroughly study their product before purchasing it. I, on the other hand, write thorough manuals for the products I manufacture.

Works wonderfully. No glitches. Provides opportunity to work w drawing apps. Perfect for overseas travel. Very dynamic.

Cannot depend on hotel or airport connectivity overseas. Using the iPhone hot spot only discharges the iPhone’s battery. This is my best option. Works as advertised.

Great product as usual from Apple, even better though, great service from B&H Photo and Video. Order a few times from the site with no issues!! Thanks B&H

I love my mini 4, but it’s a little long in the tooth for some of the apps I use. Bingo, along comes mini 5 addressing all those problems. Way more speed, great screen for both clarity and brightness, and with 256 gigs of memory it’s going to take a while to fill that up. I use this for my music apps and my flight apps, and I kept the 4 as a backup, but I doubt I’ll be needing it.

The other reviews are right – it’s fast, has a lovely screen, and just works.

I use as a paperless alternative for calendar, journal and to wath videos. It’s very light and portable, but still fast. Great product.

Perfect for my professional stuff on-the-go (mostly video and audio production, graphic design etc.) Worth every penny!

Exactly like the Mini4 except that it is faster, has a better display and can use the Apple pencil. Well worth the upgrade.

Peppy, responsive, and great LTE reception. We have used a number of tablets for driver dispatch, and this one leads the pack.

I was looking for an iPad for my husband to replace his old one. This is exactly the same size and he is thrilled with it.

All of the apps on the old iPad were installed on the new one by Apple. Very convenient. The fingerprint scan works well.

This is a great iPad and the perfect size for someone who doesn’t always use it. This is also perfect for aviators and pilots. This is the perfect size for pilots starting out as it fits perfectly in the cockpit of any general aviation planes.

If you already have the regular size i-pad, you might not find this product necessary, but I have the largest i-pad pro, so the i-pad mini aptly fills in, where the large i-pad would be cumbersom to use, such as on an airplane.

Nice unit, hate to pay extra for a smaller size. 10.2 is a better buy if size isn’t an issue.

Apple has got a winner with the ipad mini. It’s powerful and portable enough to take anywhere with you and actually get WORK done. Don’t let that small screen fool you! you’ll adapt to it in no time and find that its more than enough for 95% of your needs. in-fact, despite its small screen size, its been a great sketch book for me. now with the apple pencil support, hobbyist artist will reach for this more often than a larger device. I’ll unequivocally say that this is the best price to value device from apple ever! and yes, that includes the iphone.

This Mini is used for storing and playing music files for my PianoDisc player and for FaceTime. It handles these tasks perfectly. I’d rather have any other color but this one was available. It’a white, not silver.

The mini is sized just right. My magazine subscriptions are quite easily read. MY purchased videos/films look wonderful. PDF files are fine. My Office 365 subscription works fine. Works great with my iPhone hotspot that I use in hotels for security. Changing the device name was simple so my personal name is not tracked by Bluetooth where ever. I am delighted with the device.
