The 13.3″ Retina Display has a 2560 x 1600 resolution at 227 ppi as well as 500 nits of brightness. It also supports the P3 wide color gamut which allows for more vibrant colors. This ensures true-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, which are essential for graphic design, color grading, and editing. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
The Magic Keyboard on this MacBook Pro has a redesigned scissor mechanism that delivers 1mm of key travel as well as an Apple-designed rubber dome that stores more potential energy for a responsive key press. There’s also a physical Esc key and an inverted “T” arrangement for the arrow keys. The Touch Bar places controls right at your fingertips and adapts to different apps to provide useful functions without having to navigate complex menus or memorize keyboard shortcuts. Replacing the function keys in the top row of the keyboard, the Touch Bar features a Retina-quality display and supports multi-touch input. The power button contains the Touch ID sensor, so you can quickly log into your MacBook Pro using your fingerprint. You can also use Touch ID to make purchases over the web, thanks to Apple Pay. Touch ID enables a quick, accurate reading of your fingerprint and uses sophisticated algorithms to recognize and match it with the Secure Enclave in the Apple T2 chip with “Hey Siri” functionality.
This MacBook Pro is powered by a 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core (8th Gen) processor that features a burst speed of up to 3.9 GHz, while 8GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 onboard RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs. The system memory cannot be upgraded.
For long-term storage of your files, this MacBook Pro is equipped with a 256GB SSD. If you want to add external peripherals, 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, while also supporting 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and device charging. Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) is built-in for wireless networking, and Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals. There is a FaceTime HD webcam.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

This was for one person on our team who was working on a 6+ year old Macbook. It is a major leap for the user with speed, disk memory, etc. Down-side was we had to downgrade the OS but no fault on unit or Packaging. Newest OS is something we can’t move to yet.

I bought 2 of these to replace 2 identical HP 470 G7 laptops I purchased a year ago through B&H. Those HPs exhibited issues with the metal hinges tightening up too much and the case plastics getting compromised around that area because of this. Knowing Apple uses all metal cases and all metal hinges on their laptops, I went ahead and ordered 2 of them. So far, I am impressed! I know these are an older model, as Apple has revamped the lineup mid-October 2021. Despite that, I have little to no complaints. I can’t say much now, since it’s been less than 1 month into using it. Only time will tell how it goes from here.

This is a speedier, more feature-rich upgrade from the previous version. The higher-end version is a much better option than the entry-level, worth the extra bucks. And B&H offered some discounted perks you can add to the package, making it even more attractive. It would have been even better if this was the rumored 14 version.

Upgraded my MacBook Pro to the 32GB RAM, and 1TB hard drive, with the Quad Core Processor. My old was the 8GB, 256G with Dual core. I was told that this would be sufficient to run LR and PS. Short version, that was wrong. YOU NEED 16GB RAM and 512GB Hard drive minimum to run Lightroom and Photoshop. Get a back up drive to store your photos, as well. As I said, I upgraded. I was tired of getting the pinwheel of death every time I moved a slider in LR. This new version is REALLY nice. Have not seen the pinwheel yet, and I have done a couple of aggressive edits. The new keyboard is much improved as far as touch is concerned. Retina screen is beautiful as you would assume, and the controls are gently responsive and easily customizable. If you are shooting full frame big files, get the 32GB RAM and the biggest hard drive you can. You will not be sorry!

The product arrived early. the price was really good. $150 less than a normal apple Store. But when I unboxed it, I notice a little scratch in the top aluminum shell, near the Apple logo. It called really my attention because I bought the product as a new one, and not as an used or refubrished. I wonder, maybe its a factory problem? or maybe someone else returned it an then they repackaged it?? The box was good close with its nylon.
