The 13.3″ Retina Display has a 2560 x 1600 resolution at 227 ppi as well as 500 nits of brightness. It also supports the P3 wide color gamut which allows for more vibrant colors. This ensures true-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, which are essential for graphic design, color grading, and editing. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
The Magic Keyboard on this MacBook Pro has a redesigned scissor mechanism that delivers 1mm of key travel as well as an Apple-designed rubber dome that stores more potential energy for a responsive key press. There’s also a physical Esc key and an inverted “T” arrangement for the arrow keys. The Touch Bar places controls right at your fingertips and adapts to different apps to provide useful functions without having to navigate complex menus or memorize keyboard shortcuts. Replacing the function keys in the top row of the keyboard, the Touch Bar features a Retina-quality display and supports multi-touch input. The power button contains the Touch ID sensor, so you can quickly log into your MacBook Pro using your fingerprint. You can also use Touch ID to make purchases over the web, thanks to Apple Pay. Touch ID enables a quick, accurate reading of your fingerprint and uses sophisticated algorithms to recognize and match it with the Secure Enclave in the Apple T2 chip with “Hey Siri” functionality.
This MacBook Pro is powered by a 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core (8th Gen) processor that features a burst speed of up to 3.9 GHz, while 8GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 onboard RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs. The system memory cannot be upgraded.
For long-term storage of your files, this MacBook Pro is equipped with a 256GB SSD. If you want to add external peripherals, 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, while also supporting 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and device charging. Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) is built-in for wireless networking, and Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals. There is a FaceTime HD webcam.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

I love the design of the touch bar across the top.. much more useful than I thought it would be. Even apps like zoom utilize this for easily navigating within the app. It’s better than getting your grubby fingers all over the beautiful display. The battery life is also very good and processing speed is lightning… granted I’m coming from a much older imac. The only drawback is… a double edged sword. The mousepad is very functional and large. But it’s size and sensitivity sometimes cause me to accidentally navigate somewhere I don’t want to be with my thumbs while I’m typing.

I can already tell this computer will last me a looong time. I had my last Pro for about 10 years, and this one is far more advanced and powerful. It’s fast no matter how much I’m doing–work on videos, photos, online, etc. Of course the only thing (which we all knew) was that you need to get a dongle for USB/memory card/ethernet etc. but that’s a minor inconvenience considering how great this computer is, and how long it will last. I highly recommend it.

I’ll admit I was a bit reluctant to make the purchase of the new 2020 MacBook Pro because I already had one that was only 2 years old. Granted the chassis didn’t change a whole lot but the strongest appeal to me was the Magic Keyboard. I had spent 2 years with the previous edition “Butterfly Keyboard” on the 2018 MacBook Pro 13″ and it wasn’t too bad. I didn’t like the seemingly non-existent key travel but the keyboard was uniform and did the job for me. However, about a month ago I experienced a key on that older MacBook falter. I sent it in to Apple to get fixed and they did but that failure of a single key cap on my MacBook was not confidence inspiring. So within a month later I sold that older 2018 model and purchased this new 2020 MacBook Pro 13″ from B&H. The performance is snappier and I am absolutely amazed by the improvement of the keyboard. It really does make a huge difference typing on a good keyboard and I really hadn’t realized how much I missed the keyboards from years ago before Apple made the switch to the Butterfly Keyboard. Not to mention that B&H did an incredible job with the shipping and packaging of my new laptop. I purchased in on Monday and the package arrived from half way across the country 2 days later. Very impressive. In Summary, If you’re on the fence debating wether to upgrade to the new MacBook Pro 2020, I too was in your shoes. It’s definitely worth the upgrade especially if you work constantly on the move. The keyboard is Magic that’s all I have to say!

I had purchased the MBP 2019 base model which I loved but I needed something with more performance for recording and editing. That being said I sold the 2019 model and dished out more for the MBP 2020 $1799 model. The new keyboard is cool reminiscent of the MBP 2012 model I use to have, the 16gb ram is awesome and extra ghz shows when I’m multi tasking. Apple gets a lot of flack but I personally love OS and iOS so it’s my go to.

When I first received this laptop, I had huge expectations. I splurged in order to have a laptop which could help me work efficiently, switching from University and business work to personal video editing work. I was frightened as the laptop struggled to load up built in apps like iPhoto or iMessages. I downloaded Final Cut Pro and was horrified to see that the program was not compatible. I restarted this midsized beast of a laptop and everything seemed to click back into joint. The laptop took some time to get all of my preferences and information lined out, but once it did, I have not had any issues and excellent speed. Final Cut Pro has been working well, along with Compressor. I was regretting not buying the 16 for a second, but after using this 13 for two weeks, I regret nothing.
