The 13.3″ Retina Display has a 2560 x 1600 resolution at 227 ppi as well as 500 nits of brightness. It also supports the P3 wide color gamut which allows for more vibrant colors. This ensures true-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, which are essential for graphic design, color grading, and editing. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.
The Magic Keyboard on this MacBook Pro has a redesigned scissor mechanism that delivers 1mm of key travel as well as an Apple-designed rubber dome that stores more potential energy for a responsive key press. There’s also a physical Esc key and an inverted “T” arrangement for the arrow keys. The Touch Bar places controls right at your fingertips and adapts to different apps to provide useful functions without having to navigate complex menus or memorize keyboard shortcuts. Replacing the function keys in the top row of the keyboard, the Touch Bar features a Retina-quality display and supports multi-touch input. The power button contains the Touch ID sensor, so you can quickly log into your MacBook Pro using your fingerprint. You can also use Touch ID to make purchases over the web, thanks to Apple Pay. Touch ID enables a quick, accurate reading of your fingerprint and uses sophisticated algorithms to recognize and match it with the Secure Enclave in the Apple T2 chip with “Hey Siri” functionality.
This MacBook Pro is powered by a 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core (8th Gen) processor that features a burst speed of up to 3.9 GHz, while 8GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 onboard RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs. The system memory cannot be upgraded.
For long-term storage of your files, this MacBook Pro is equipped with a 512GB SSD. If you want to add external peripherals, 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, while also supporting 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and device charging. Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) is built-in for wireless networking, and Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals. There is a FaceTime HD webcam.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

This new one works just as expected as well as quality build! My previous MacBook Air supported MainStage, but struggled when playing heavily layered patches. I was also running Concert files off of an external drive. The 16GB of fast RAM increased performance, while moving my files off of an external drive to local storage eliminated the need to bring an extra peripheral. Although I had no issues with the butterfly keyboard in the Air, this keyboard has more travel and feels more natural. I’m still learning to the use the Touch Bar in certain situations, but when I do, it accomplishes what needs to be done.

While my old one still runs, it was getting pretty slow. This one has more than enough power and features to let me easily run my normal email, internet and work software. It powers up quickly. The graphics are great and I get a couple of days out of the battery. B&H had by far the best deal that I could find on the internet and it was delivered quickly. I got the Payboo card; the value on this purchase made it wirthwhile and it was easy.

I bought 2 of these to replace 2 identical HP 470 G7 laptops I purchased a year ago through B&H. Those HPs exhibited issues with the metal hinges tightening up too much and the case plastics getting compromised around that area because of this. Knowing Apple uses all metal cases and all metal hinges on their laptops, I went ahead and ordered 2 of them. So far, I am impressed! I know these are an older model, as Apple has revamped the lineup mid-October 2021. Despite that, I have little to no complaints. I can’t say much now, since it’s been less than 1 month into using it. Only time will tell how it goes from here.

This new MacBook Pro replaces my early 2011 MacBook Pro, which cannot download the latest OS. I’m amazed at the speed of this new one, with the faster processor and SSD. The touch bar is new to me as well, and I’m getting used to it. This new MacBook Pro is thinner and lighter than the old one, but still slightly heavier than the MacBook Air. This purchase is probably the 4th or 5th laptop I’ve made through B&H, and it was painless and effortless.

I had purchased the MBP 2019 base model which I loved but I needed something with more performance for recording and editing. That being said I sold the 2019 model and dished out more for the MBP 2020 $1799 model. The new keyboard is cool reminiscent of the MBP 2012 model I use to have, the 16gb ram is awesome and extra ghz shows when I’m multi tasking. Apple gets a lot of flack but I personally love OS and iOS so it’s my go to.
