Apple has re-engineered the Mac mini with 8th Generation Intel Core processors, giving it even more power for industrial-grade tasks, such as home automation, giant render farms, running a live concert sound engine, or testing your latest iOS or iPadOS app. Along with improved system and graphics performance, an all-new thermal architecture includes all-flash storage, a bigger fan, expanded vents, and a redesigned power supply, and Apple’s T2 security chip. This Mac mini is powered by 3.6 GHz Intel Core i3 Quad-Core processor, while 8GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.
Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you’ll be able to output video to an external display using the system’s Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output, or use the built-in HDMI 2.0 port. Up to three 4K displays are supported between any two Thunderbolt 3 ports and the HDMI port, or you can connect one 5K display via THunderbolt 3 and one 4K display via HDMI 2.0.
For storage of your files, this Mac mini is equipped with a 256GB PCIe SSD that has a sequential read speed of up to 3.4 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, four Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, while also supporting 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB 3.1), device charging, and an external GPU. Thanks to two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) Type-A ports, you’ll still be able to connect other devices to this system. Gigabit Ethernet is built in for wired networking, or use dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) for wireless networking. Bluetooth 5.0 technology will allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and headsets. Sound is output using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple’s Mac mini operates using an internal 150W power supply that runs off 100-240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple’s website for upgrade eligibility.

My MacBook Pro video card died meaning either spend $700 replacing the logic board (and replace a failing SSD) or look for other options. Luckily the Mac Mini could work for my situation. Super easy setup I was up and running in minutes with my backup/restore.

First of all, I was hoping this came installed with Mojave, but it came pre-installed with Catalina. Many Mac mini owners report HDMI connectivity issues like black screens forcing you to physically unplug/plug cable. SMC reset does not fix this, nor does updating or downgrading MacOS. this issue has persisted for some time and the only solution Apple offers is using one of your Thunderbolt ports for display, leaving you with a useless HDMI port on you Mac mini.

This Apple Mac Mini (late 2018) works perfectly as my remote ProTools workstation. It’s running Mojave OS 10.14.6 which works with ProTools 2019.12.

I must say, a great upgrade from my 2014 Mac mini. Still using my 2014 for general use. I purchased the 2018 model just for media production only. I’m a audio / video engineer, this was a great upgrade for my home studio. 6 cores make a big difference when working in media production. No more audio dropouts, working with video is very smooth. I did get the model with only 16 GB and will upgrade it to 64.

This was an upgrade to the 2011 Mac Mini. Not only is it faster due to the better processor and 16 GB RAM, I like the USB-C ports.

It’s a Mac and it works wonderfully as expected! Wish it had a built in microphone but other than that it suits my needs.

I have only had it hooked up for a few days, but was easy to set up, it is very fast, easy to migrate old programs and files from the old computer to new computer. Things you should know is that there is no monitor or keyboard. There are internal speakers though.

So far so good. I upgraded the memory to 32G. It was a little tricky but it worked. You need special tools Using an external 1TB SSD to augment the storage. Using two 4K 27 monitors. It’s fast!

Most Apple products are overpriced these days, so if you want to buy a new Apple computer you’re going to pay more than it’s worth…except with the Mac Mini series. No, it doesn’t come with a screen, but it is loaded with everything else. I got a 32gb of ram/1TB ssd drive/3.2ghz model, and if I wanted a macbook pro with the same specs I would’ve spent nearly double. Thus, to me, it’s definitely your best bet if you want a new apple computer.

I’d been wanting a Mac mini for years when and my MacBook Air died I got my chance. The mini is faster and was 2/3 the price. It has so many more ports than the new MacBook Air. Which I needed with my monitor, printer, external hd, and devices. Best option overall for a desktop that will suit the average user’s needs.

Big upgrade from 2010 MacBook Pro, the only issue I have is I wish I would have gotten a larger HD. I have the128GB and its nowhere enough and they are not upgradeable, using external ssd works great just wish I would have bought a larger HD.

As a long time Windows user, I expected a learning curve. But the difficulty is finding a font size compatible with my vision makes me an unhappy camper

This is good computer if somewhat over priced. Beautifully made like most Apple products. Get your extra RAM from B&H not Apple! Fast delivery. Great discount. But Apple, how about including a keyboard and mouse at this price???

Replaced my late 2014 Mac Mini as the system had slowed appreciably over the last year. The Mac Mini (late 2018) is radically faster. Cloned the old Mac Mini hard drive using a new Crucial 1TB SSD. Moved the data via USB to the new MM using the migration assistant. The migration was easier than I anticipated. After the data migration was complete I installed the 1TB SSD in the old MM and it is running better than ever. My only reason for a 4 star rating v. 5 is the price and the fact that the SSD is not field upgradeable.

Im just your average desktop user who needed to replace his old mini. New one works well, B&H did their usual fine work shipping it to me, Pa wasnt added to the collect list so that was a plus, transferred everything from old to new mini and everything worked, no muss, no fuss. What more can you want!
