   Lightweight, portable, charge lasts a long time, easy to pair, and it matches my other Apple products. Keys have a nice action to them as well.

   The keyboard itself is great. Although, it could use some function keys… or at the very least a function button to turn number keys into function keys (how obvious would that have been?) and an ESC KEY (hint: map capslock to ESC in settings). Other than that, Apple need to do some work on some of the hotkeys when using sidecar (such as Jump desktop has already done). The build quality, while surprisingly heavy, is superb on this keyboard. Time will tell, but it feels like a tank and has none of the MacBook Pro butterfly keyboard issues. I love typing on it. If Apple listens to customer feedback and adds a pencil holder, this is going to be a 5 star winner.

   I recently bought an HP Z32 to connect to my MacBook Pro. I wanted a wireless keyboard in order to sit further back from the large display and to be able to work with my MBP lid closed or off to one side. The keyboard feels great underhand and no wires means my small desk is uncluttered. The space grey and black tones, and thin profile of the keyboard looks like it was made to match the HP display.

   I love this little thing. Works perfectly. I’ve never had one issue. One drawback is it’s quite the drain on your battery. You pretty much have to turn off the illuminated keyboard for it to last more than a couple of hours. Other than that it’s wonderful.

   This will mostly be opinionated but iPad Pro magic keyboard is a better overall experience than my 15″ 2018 MacBook Pro. Feels more natural as a mobile device and nearly just as powerful as my MacBook Pro.. just the lacking OS for more pro software. But once apple updates to silicon series chipsets I wouldn’t be surprised if they overhaul all apps and allow Xcode to be run on the iPad. At that point, no need for MacBook. My point being that magic keyboard and iPad Pro duo feels great, great typing experience, solidifies it more as a pro device and eagerly getting close to MacBook Pro territory in terms of performance.

   Apple’s old (original) bluetooth wireless keyboard has a bit more noticeable key “travel” and greater resistance and “springiness” than this new bluetooth keyboard. I use both. The new Magic Keyboard is noisier in a hollow way and has less travel than the older keyboard. My advice to Apple is “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” or attempt to. The only clear advantage of the new Apple Magic Keyboard is that it is much more compact, has a lower profile while still maintaining a bit of a slant angle for typing, and does not use AA batteries that can die. This is USB cable rechargeable. It pairs wirelessly to an iOS device (iPhone or iPad) or pairs wired to a computer. The space between the keys is about the same as the older one, but the overall size is smaller than the older keyboard. Functionally, it works fine. But somehow even though it looks cool, it is less “satisfying” to type on than the old Keyboard, but I’m not entirely sure why that is. Perhaps because of the lack of tactile resistance, the noise, or the lack of springiness than the older one.

    I am Loving my new iPad Pro so far. Of course it’s light years ahead of the 2004 Apple iBook G4 that it is replacing (I know, I know…). Obviously there is somewhat of a learning curve with the differences but in a house with two teenagers to help, that’s been O.K. So far. I also got the “Magic Keyboard” with this iPad which of course also acts as a case. I don’t know if I’m more taken with the iPad, the Magic Keyboard or how they function together? – It is a joy to see perfectly functioning engineering like this! – I was concerned that I might not like the keyboard or that it would be too far off from the one I was used to, but I needn’t have been and actually like this keyboard better than my old one! Key function and sensitivity and keyboard size are great! – The iPad magnetically connects effortlessly with the Magic Keyboard and can charge from there too and when you want it disconnected for other uses, you just grab it and pull it off the keyboard component! – Once I’d set them both up my two aforementioned teenagers were even visibly impressed and I wondered if I sensed a little envy in their look even though they’ve had much further advanced electronic devices than their Dad for a long time up until this point. – It is fantastic and really does make it seem like a “real” laptop computer – or even better!     I paid for the Apple logo. The extra $20 for this keyboard to be black seems ridiculous, but I paid it anyway because I wanted black. That’s the genius behind Apple marketing and sales I suppose.

    The Apple Magic Keyboard has been one of the best, if not the best extra purchases for my 2020 M1 Macbook Pro. Everything about it has been stellar. From the typing experience, aesthetics, minimal footprint, and comfort. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss my numerical keypad section but that was a choice I made to minimize the footprint (The Apple Magic Keyboard is offered with or without this keypad section). Battery life is also more than exceptional. I’ve had this setup over bluetooth since the end of May 2021. Current battery life is 69 percent!

    Slightly pricey (cheaper keyboards out there) but this one is rechargeable. If the battery ever dies, the lightning cord could just function as a wired keyboard. Long lasting battery and the percentage shows up in the bluetooth section of Mac.

    First of all – the keyboard leaves no wishes open: Illuminated keys, touchpad, sturdy build which will protect the device, charging can be done through the keyboard, Device turns automatically on when the screen gets tilted (step 2 after opening), keys have enough depth to give a good type feeling. But what I really like about it is the sturdiness: You can open it, and put it onto your lap starting working. It is not like the other flappy things which fall apart once starting to type and which can simply not being used otherwise. Unfortunately this great feature comes also with a price: When you are trying to use the iPad in portrait mode, you want most likely to peel the tablet out of the keyboard folder as it is a tad awkward to use the tablet as a tablet. One comment for Apple to make it perfect: The plug for the USB-C charger in the keyboard is a round tube. Why not allow the user to put the pen in there for travelling? The UI got changed to be a bit playful when using the touchpad: E.g. when hovering the cursor (which is only a round circle) over e.g. icons, they wiggle around. Nice touch! Even though I wished that a Tap (like on a pc) is doing the click and not a real click would be required. What it didn’t do however was to give the device a more Pro feeling as the software is still the same (e.g. using Lightroom gives you still only the mobile version on a ~13 notebook screen with the limited feature set. Even moreso – I was astounded to see that even simpler programs like the gMail web version shows up only as the mobile version. Unfortunately there is a downside to this great keyboard: It is the magic price. One can get a nice notebook these days for the keyboard alone which is equally thin (or even thinner) than the iPad sandwich and can run really Pro applications with more features.
