With its floating cantilever design, your 3rd and 4th Generation 12.9″ iPad Pro magnetically attaches to the Magic Keyboard for smooth viewing angle adjustments. Its full-size, backlit keys feature a scissor mechanism with 1mm travel for fast and quiet typing. The keyboard also has a built-in multi-gesture touchpad that allows precise interaction with iPadOS applications. A USB Type-C pass-through charging port is located on the keyboard folio’s hinge, freeing the iPad Pro’s port for peripherals such as external storage drives. Once you’re done, the keyboard doubles as a cover that protects the front and back of your iPad Pro.

I have owned previously two iPad Pro 11in with keyboards and find the iPad 12.9 with Apple Magic keyboard more useful. The iPad12.9in with Magic keyboard works better and easier than my MacBook Pro laptop and may become a replacement for it. The touch pad on the keyboard works with different gestures for full control over the screen. It provides a small circular dot instead of a pointer on the screen and changes to a vertical line for editing when over text. I find the portability and protection for the screen to be a great asset and the ability to charge the iPad through the keyboard another plus with the option to charge on the iPad itself. The keyboard is back lit which helps in dimly lit conditions. The keys feel responsive and positive to the touch. I would recommend to buy to anyone, even with the high cost, who owns an iPad 12.9 as it truly increases the productivity factor.

Unlike my previous Apple Keyboard, this one was not bulky nor heavy. With this new one, I have room on the space for a wireless mouse right next to the keyboard. A dust cover would have been nice, but I can fix something up for that. I’m happy!

Much better than the old wireless keyboards. Good feel. Also like that it is rechargeable instead of AA batteries. Overall size is smaller than I thought it would be and hence easier to fit on the desk, even with the numeric keypad

Keyboard works, and new key mechanics are much improved. No backlight. Also, I really need just a wired keyboard as it connects with a kvm but apple no longer makes one (and the alternative was terrible). This thing insists on pairing with Bluetooth all the time so the KVM setup works only sometimes. Also a bit ridiculous they don’t offer this model in space gray, to match the trackpad.

For a MacBook Pro, an Apple-branded keyboard should be a no-brainer. But you can buy at least (3) non-Apple keyboards for the price of 1 from Apple. I purchased one of these used Like New for $50 and within 3 weeks I had keys sticking. I would fix one key and another would stick. So I broke down and purchased this new one for $100. Its been 3 weeks and it seems fine. Reviews dont mention sticking keys, but I am still very concerned for the future. At least I will have some warranty now.
