Further improving the 11″ iPad Pro, Apple has added a few new advancements for upgraded performance, entertainment, and usability. Replacing the A12X processor, the A12Z Bionic has performance rivaling that of laptops available today, in addition to an eight-core graphics processor that handles everything from games to 4K video editing. Moreover, it’s still paired with a Neural Engine chip for advanced machine learning.
The iPad Pro’s display features the same Liquid Retina technology found on iPhones, and has a 2388 x 1668 resolution, ProMotion technology, wide color and True Tone support, as well as a 600 cd/m2 brightness rating. On the rear, Apple has added a 10MP ultra-wide camera, enabling different perspectives and multi-camera use. A newly added LiDAR scanner, which determines distance by determining light reflection, further readies possibilities for augmented reality and beyond.
With “Pro” in its name, the iPad now features five studio-quality microphones that capture clean audio and the quietest details. The combination of the pro cameras, audio enhancements, and its large display makes the iPad Pro a suitable mobile studio option for creative users. On the software side, iPadOS now supports trackpad inputs for an easier time navigating including mult-touch gestures. Lastly, Apple has opted for a USB Type-C connector rather than its traditional Lightning connector for additional features and broader compatibility with other devices.
This iPad comes preloaded with iPadOS. Please check your device settings for the latest available update.

Just in case your on the fence, I’ll reiterate what everyone else is saying. This generation of the ipad pro is close to a replacement to an actual computer but is just not there yet. There are just some things where a standalone workstation, complete with a keyboard and mouse, works better. Do you do CAD or any sort of 3D modeling? This thing wont get you there all by itself. You’ll be hard pressed to even find robust apps that are capable of the work on ipad. I find that even the adobe suite applications are like less robust versions of the real thing. I get to a point in designs where I simply move back over to my Macbook Pro to get the job done. I think the way to use the ipad pro is as a sidekick to a workstation. You can actually pair them pretty easily and work between the two. This is good. You can draw up edits, revisions, and get concepts flowing quickly. Then when you want to take something into the field, it works beautifully as a mobile setup, providing just enough features to get you through the day. When the real work needs to be done, just hook it back into your primary work station. You wont be disappointed if you decide to purchase this, but don’t expect it to do everything your computer can do.

This is the perfect device to be on the go, take notes, check emails and just work without having to take your laptop with you.

Reasons to buy this over Ipad air 4: 1. 120Hz refresh rate 2. Speakers 3. Camera and LiDar sensor 4. More RAM

I don’t need to say a lot, I simply love my iPad, helps me get so much work done, faster, easier

Apple knocked this device out of the park. Everything works perfectly, the battery lasts a long time, it has faster Wi-Fi speeds than my other apple devices (look up it’s new antenna tech), and doesn’t lag either.

Purchased the I Pad pro for a Christmas present for my wife. Shipping was very timely. We all have to wait till Christmas for the product re-view but I’m sure she will love it.

Purchased this for my daughter who is learning digital art. Light, and compact with a screen that is just large enough to create digital art on.

The iPad Pro along with an Apple Pencil is about the best you can get in terms of digital art for a portable pen display. The battery life is excellent and the pencil is the best feeling stylus I’ve ever used. Although there are some great Android tablets out there, the software available to the iPad is so polished and diverse: you have everything from photo editing software to vector design to digital painting to light CAD. However, I don’t think that the iPad can replace most people’s computers. Obviously a keyboard is still an additional purchase, and the file browsing system simply isn’t robust enough. Many of the applications people use for work aren’t available on the iPad either, such as 3D modeling and animating software, professional video editing, true CAD software, 2D animation software, etc. I believe that the iPad is a wonderful addition to a desktop or laptop setup, but not a replacement as of this time. Unfortunately, I also think that most professionals will be more productive on a traditional desktop setup due to a wider variety of applications, keyboard shortcuts, and better multitasking. I love to use my iPad for digital illustrations and note taking for work, but if I have to sit down and edit 20 photos for social media and our website, I know that I’ll get it done faster using my computer. Pros: -Best tablet on the market -Great performance for a tablet -Amazing display, color accuracy, color gamut, 120hz refresh rate -Works with the best pen stylus available, better than Wacom -Great battery life -Great app support -Easy to use GUI -Great speakers Cons: -Screen could be brighter -Not OLED -Camera isn’t that great. For a $850+ product you’d think Apple could use a better sensor/lens. Actually quite disappointed with the camera. My four year old LG phone has a better camera. -Apple’s poor repair policies -No expandable storage -No headphone jack -Barely upgraded A12Z processor. Essentially the same as previous models. I don’t approve of Apple’s upgrade strategies for their products. They should’ve either used the A13 chip or waited till the fall if the chip wasn’t ready for retail yet. I don’t see why their phones, even lower end ones, should be more powerful than the product they are touting as a ‘laptop’ replacement.

As a tool for photography, browsing the web, video watching, book reading, & any of the millions of things you can do with a tablet, this one truly excels. The image on the screen is impeccable, the size is perfect for portability & reading, & the sound quality for videos is amazing. I am still exploring all of the features of the new iPad, but idk if I will ever truly grasp all of its functionality.

I’ve owned the 1st generation I pad and a few in between this thing is a monster on performance and the camera crisp and clear.

Super fast, powerful device that is pleasure to hold. I think this size fits better for reading pdfs. A larger one would heavy to handhold, but it may be a better option for artists. Feels like a book at hand. I don`t care for photo capabilities. Overall a great experience. Surely it will serve for many years.

Absolutely fine piece of equipment. It’s light weight in design yet blazing fast for a tablet. In fact, you won’t even notice you’re operating on a tablet with the processing power that this iPad Pro offers. This is a great buy.

I wasn’t sure how I’d like the squarer edges of the iPad Pro but it seems comfortable in my hands for extended reading. I am coming from an earlier home button air model and that is taking some getting used to. I always use the iPad in landscape mode and inevitably cover up the face scan camera, but as time goes on I should get used to it. I’m sure this iPad will get at least 3 years of use before considering an upgrade.

This is the best version of the iPad yet, and iPadOS has dramatically improved the functionality of iPads since the earlier models. As someone who pre-ordered the first generation iPad Pro but was disappointed to find that it was barely any more useful than my iPhone because it ran the same operating system and lacked the file management and other features of a laptop, I can say that this is far more useable and feature-packed. iPadOS has added a lot, and I expect it to only get better. As for this specific hardware, it really is the best version of the iPad yet. Super thin, super fast, USB functionality for use with external drives and peripherals , great speakers and mic (for a mobile device), *incredible* display quality, FaceID, usability in any orientation, and compatibility with the wireless charging Apple Pencil 2 (so much better than Apple Pencil 1’s charging solution), and compatibility with Apple’s new magic keyboard make this an extremely versatile, useful, and powerful tablet . . . but it’s still a tablet. While this is the closest I’ve seen any tablet come to being a real laptop replacement, it still isn’t a laptop replacement for everything. That being said, it can replace a *real* computer for most general computing tasks, and I’d happily bring this on a vacation instead of a laptop. Even as an avid photographer working with thousands of very high resolution photos, this works for me. The USB-C port allows me to make the appropriate copies of my photos on multiple external drives, and Photoshop and Lightroom for iPadOS allow me to do some field editing. I still prefer desktop photoshop, adobe bridge, and adobe camera raw, but the iPad is good enough to do some lighter editing, such as family photos or photos for posting on social media. I would still do the majority of editing back home at a desktop, particularly for complex composites or complex masking and editing jobs. TLDR: best in class tablet; still a tablet; can replace a laptop for a lot-maybe even most-tasks, but not for everything. 10/10 recommend if you see it fitting into your workflow or just want the best tablet available.
