The Apple 10.2″ iPad features the Retina display with a 2160 x 1620 resolution for crisp details and vivid colors, making it an ideal companion for watching movies, creating content, and much more. The previous A10 Fusion chip is replaced with the A12 Bionic chip, which is more powerful and supports Neural Engine machine learning. Moreover, its Smart Connector offers Smart Keyboard support for comfortable typing, while its display is compatible with the 1st gen Apple Pencil, so users can write and draw. With front and back cameras, the iPad can take photos, capture video, scan documents, make FaceTime calls, and provide AR capabilities. Connectivity-wise, it’s equipped with Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.2, a Lightning connector, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Its li-polymer battery is rated for up to 10 hours of use to keep you going throughout the day.

I needed to replace my recently deceased iPad Air… but couldn’t stomach the price. So I reluctantly went for the 8th Gen iPad. Now I’m really glad I did. * Apple’s new chip makes for a faster, smoother experience overall. Everything loads lightning fast. * Weight-wise, I can’t tell any difference between the 8th Gen & my old Air. The thickness seems about the same, too. * The slightly smaller screen is an advantage, since I can easily hold the 8th Gen in one hand… without accidentally touching the screen. * I saved a few hundred bucks. My only complaint is the charger no longer features a USB-compatible connector. I saved this, though, by saving my Air’s old charger and cord. Overall, a very good buy.

I also ordered Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, which allows me to put an SD card from point and shoot Canon, Kodak, and Panasonic cameras in so I can import photos easily onto my iPad. Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter allows me to add small Thumbdrives / Flashdrives to add storage. In truth the Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter is currently unnecessary for me, as I just deleted whatever I don’t need on the iPad. There is enough native storage for basic Apps, editing, and writing!!

I came across this new offering ipad that serves my needs at a fraction of the cost and I can’t tell the difference .. except this one now does finger print recognition instead of facial. Small price to pay to save a ton of cash for the functionality.
