Our town’s water is high in both iron and manganese, turning fixtures golden brown and leaving my hair in dire need to salon services. So, I decided to go with a shower filter to minimize the problem water issues. It seemed simple enough to install, but after three attempts to obtain a secure, connection to the stem coming from the shower wall, I gave up and reconnected my existing hand held Grohe and called a plumber. He said he has installed Aquasana and has had the same problem with achieving a leak free connection. He had to use teflon tape on all the connections and added another washer gasket in two places. Now it’s leak free. Seems to be working, water feels “softer” and I’ll have to wait and see how long the filter lasts given the particles in the town water.

Every time I took a shower I could smell chlorine. I purchased and installed this shower filter with shower hose and no longer smell chlorine. This is an easy install with simple instructions. I am a woman 71 years old and did it myself!

i found this shower head ok with softening water function but i guess it’s not as good as i thought. perhaps the water in houston is too hard that the product doesn’t soften it enough.

The filter was easy to install but the metal connector was hard to attach to the inflow pipe. It was rather slippery. Other than that, the water quality has improved and the water acquired a better smell. It also became softer on the skin. I highly recommend this.
