Installation is simple, but connections need plumbers tape or they will drip and leak. Plastic threads could be replaced with non-corrosive metal of some kind in future.

Using these shower filters has changed taking a shower in our house. We have terrible well water and current house filter system (not Aquasana’s) is not enough. The water is much cleaner, no smell, and the shower stall and fixtures stay much cleaner. Also having them delivered every 6 months is very convenient.

I have bought multiples of these filters. One problem is once your filter starts leaking out the sides in between where the filter screws in it becomes a permanent condition that will happen with every subsequent filter you install. And eventually I get to a filter that I can’t unscrew. When they are new they are the best thing in the world. The last one I purchased started leaking with the second filter I installed, and now I’m trying to unscrew the third and it won’t come off. I’ve asked other people for help but nobody can get it to budge. Yet it still leaks. So I’ve really lost my previous enthusiasm for this product.
