Protect your home and plumbing from the adverse effects of scale buildup and extend the life of your washing machine, water heater, dishwasher and other appliances. Unlike salt-based conditioners, the Aquasana Whole House Salt-Free Water Conditioner won’t demineralize your water by chemically removing minerals nor will it put excess salt or chemical waste into the environment. Aquasana uses advanced SCM salt-free technology to naturally and safely reduce scale buildup in hard water without the use of salt or chemicals.
- Extends life of tankless water heaters, pipes and appliances by reducing harmful effects of scale buildup
- Low maintenance – lasts 2 years and doesn’t require heavy bags of salt for replacement
- Does not require electricity, drainage for wastewater, or complicated salt replacement
- Will not chemically remove healthy minerals from water

Seems to be doing what it is supposed to. Dishes are coming out of the dishwasher cleaner and without hard water spots. Not only is the lime scale build-up in the appliances (most notably the dishwasher) halted but it appears to be removing some of the build-up from before the Aquasana was installed. I can feel a slight difference in the feel of the water in the shower. The only drawbacks so far is that we did lose some water pressure but it’s only noticeable in our house at the kitchen sink. The pressure is still more than adequate. I don’t notice any pressure loss from the shower. The only other drawback that I have noticed is that changing the media filter is a bit of a pain because you can’t drain the water in the Aquasana reservoir prior to unscrewing it so it can be a bit messy. Make sure you have a bucket underneath. Not too big a deal. It would also be nice if there was a way to tell when the filter needs changed. It’s supposed to be good for 60,000 gallons if I remember right so I’ll just have to watch the water bills on usage. We’ll see how that goes. Overall, so far, I’m very happy. Installation for me was a bit complicated because I had to go from copper to PVC on one side and pex to PVC on the other. I am a pretty experienced do-it-yourselfer so, with a little ingenuity I was able to get it done without too much trouble. Depending on your particular installation and experience level with plumbing or lack thereof, you may want a professional to install. I’ve seen where others have reported issues with the connectors being cheap and leaking but I’m not having that issue at all. Could be user error.

The conditioner was easy to install and is nicely made. Although it isn’t a true water softener it does help somewhat with water spots on the glass shower doors and plumbing fixtures. Overall I think it is helpful and a good value.

Filter is working great to prevent hard water issues no issues with that at all first is should have a bypass to allow changing filter without shutting off and draining water Second bracket doesn’t fit the housing for price thus is riridiculous I had to make my own Lastly quality of housing is very poor had to redo fittings three times adding more Teflon each time to keep it from leaking, quite the pain!

We have a small apt over garage with a tankless water heater. Since there is no softener for the apt we thought we would see if this help cut down on water spots and build up in the faucets. Only had on for few weeks so we are hoping in the long run it will work. There was no water coming out of faucets due to all the calcium in them.

Liked how easy it was to install; would suggest making the lid with a by pass system in it. Thus you wouldn’t have to plumb a by pass in your water lines. Only had it installed for three weeks to early to know if the salt free water soft cartridge is keeping the hard water build up from continuing. Only time will tell?

I think the filter is working as depictedin the information. When I shave and rinse the sink the wiskers wash away easily. Prior to installing the filter much more effort was needed to get the wiskers down the drain they tended to stick to the sink.. I bought it to protect a tankless water heater(to keep minerals from stinking to the heat exchanger) only time will tell.

I thought everything about this is quality However, the mounting bracket provided leaves the filter housing unstable… it flops way too much
