Excellent product. If you are familiar with pex pipe, push to connect sharkbite products, and basic framing/mounting (for the small suspended filters), you can completely install yourself. The professional kit I ordered from Aquasana came with crimp connections as opposed to push to connect so you may be better off ordering them separately if you don’t have (or don’t want to deal with) a crimping tool.I have 2 bathrooms and a kitchen and did not notice any drop in pressure or flow rate from usage. I flushed the system as per the instructions and water is crystal clear.Regardless, water in my home used to taste like pool water and now every outlet tastes better than the Brita filter we had. Even if I had to hire a plumber to install the pipe and system itself, it would be totally worth every penny.

It’s made such a difference with my water. I can’t wait to shower every night. So cliche, but my skin is so soft, my dish and laundry detergent actually suds the way they should. The kit was delivered with all the parts and pieces and extra filters. It’s worth the investment!

Great unit! Free delivery and unit was installed immediately by a licensed plumber next our water heater and it runs great! You get descaling but not the added softness that salt provides, but the descaler portion is great to have because your hair shampoos fine also without salt and of course you save the cost and hassle of salt over at least 6 full years!

The installation by my usual plumbing contractor went well, about 3 hours, much of that flushing the filters/tanks per instructions. Seem to experience softer after and less white calcium build up deposits (home is only 2 years old, and was previously showing deposits on faucets and shower heads), but a mysterious pink substance residue in an ultrasonic humidifier unit. Have not purged the bottom of the hot water heater, yet.

So, for everyone asking the primary question about water softeners–does it leave a slippery feel on your skin and hair in the shower–the answer is a resounding NO!! We had this installed while away on vacation, and forgot until a week later when I was in the basement. No change at all, to the touch–but I’m certain our appliances are breathing easier!!

The only thing was you sent me another unit to replace after 2 years the delivered one to amend the error because in Brentwood the chemical used for bacteria is chloramine instead of chlorine.
