We installed the full system ourselves. Pre-filter, descaler, carbon filter to take out heavy metals, the .35 micron post filter, and the UV filter. We took our time, paid attention to details and followed the directions. The installation of the system went smoothly. (I suggest watching several internet videos on the prep and installation before you do the actual install as they contain valuable info.)I would suggest installing a flow meter that registers in gallons the water used so you will know when to change out the tanks. We have been very pleased with the results. We had the water tested for hardness and chemicals as well as heavy metals before and after the installation. Our water was tested as 26 hard, there was an issue with iron, and the arsenic level was a little high. After the installation there was no longer a problem with the iron, chemicals present tested zero, no heavy metals were found and the arsenic was reduced to well within gov. specs. (note: Aquasana, said their product might reduce but would not remove all the arsenic. In our case it cut the arsenic level in half.) One thing to clarify the softness issue. The water tested 26 hard “Before and After” the we installed the system. But the descaler broke down the lime/calcium into micro particulates that get washed away. We no-longer have clogging of our shower heads, the laundry detergent works and the water is actually cleaning our coffee maker (and prob. our pipes, although we can’t see inside them.)We are very happy with the results.

Simply soft whole house conditioner I have up and running now for 8 days so it is a little early to tell how it will really do. I have all new pipes within home. The water is softer but not where it should be in my opinion. I was figuring my hair would feel much softer like when using rain water but so far not there. Better than before installed but not quite where I think it should be. Water does taste great. I am going to have the water tested in a week or two to compare against one done on the city water.

Installation was simple. Most of the time consumption was flushing the tanks. Only issue was that the connector between the two tanks were not of the greatest quality and kept on leaking. Went to the local hardware store to beef up the system. Quality of the drinking water is noticably better. Mother inlaw who is picky with the water she consumes is please with it. She is very sensitive to the cholrine in our city water and said she does not notice it anymore. Our previous softener was not working at all which prompted us to purchase a new one. A week into the system, the only thing I do not like is that it feels like the water is harder than it was before.

Our new system is operational for just over a month now. We replaced an old potassium/salt water softener that used a lot of water every night to refresh. I installed EQ-1000 (post and pre-filters) all new. (No replacement tanks! ??). I installed it all with 1 inch copper as the house is all 1 inch to keep water flow at correct volume. Looks good in the garage and the water has a good taste. So slimy feel in the shower, nice! Had my doctor review the product and he thought best he had ever reviewed health wise. So good water and better health too.
