I purchased this kettle in December of 2019 for $19.99 on sale and have used it almost daily for heating water for tea, hot cocoa and oatmeal. I have not had any issues with this unit and highly recommend it for the following reasons: The clear glass unit heats water fast and illuminates a pretty blue during the process. The attractive cordless glass kettle is lightweight and easy to pickup from the swivel base. The large sturdy handle and secure pull-up cover allows me to safely pour the very hot water. The kettle has a wide opening which allows me to insert my hand inside to wash/ dry the entire kettle. The cord is long enough to slide the kettle away from the wall to prevent kettle steam from damaging the kitchen cabinets. The auto shut off is a great safety feature. I have only filled it to the minimum level as I only boil water for myself so if the manufacturer ever makes a single serve kettle, I would be interested as it would probably take up less space on my counter. I did not purchase the optional protection plan.
