The red ASUS 11.6″ 32GB Chromebook is a thin and compact computing solution that’s ideal for students and users who work on the go. Specs-wise, it’s equipped with a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron N3350 dual-core processor and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM for tackling everyday tasks such as browsing the internet, composing and editing documents, and more. Like most Chromebooks, storage space is limited, so the Chromebook only has 32GB of built-in eMMC storage; however, you can easily expand that with external USB or microSD storage solutions. Its 11.6″ display, driven by integrated Intel HD graphics, has a 1366 x 768 resolution for crisp and clear HD content. Other integrated features include Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, a webcam, a microphone, speakers, and a combo 3.5mm audio jack. The operating system installed is Chrome OS.

Recipient seems quite happy. Her first laptop and she was up and browsing after a brief phone tutorial. Excellent range for a bargain price.

Gram lives 900 miles away and was running an old HP windows 7 PC. This C223 has 3 years of support left, maybe it will outlive her. She had trouble adjusting to the touch pad, so I bought her a red & black Logitech M325, which she said color matched perfectly. Chrome remote desktop made it easy for me to setup for her. This version can access the Play Store. Copying her browser passwds and links was easy. Wish I could have linked her android phone to the Chromebook for texting, but she’s clueless and I lost my patience. Overall she’s happy, I’m happy, and I doubt she’ll need more than the 32GB of disk space provided. I could send her a spare micro SD card if necessary. She was too scared to learn Windows 11, so this worked out great, despite it being the first Chromebook in the family. Knocking off one star for the screen, and no backlit keyboard, but that couldn’t be avoided due to the low price.

Chromebook has only been use maybe 10 times. In under a month, it will no longer charge and will not power on.

Plays video well. Battery life is good. Very light and quick for my needs. Not recommended for gaming or CPU intensive tasks but browsing and working with google apps is hassle free.
