Powered exclusively by 10th Generation Intel Core processors, the Republic of Gamers Strix Z490-E Gaming LGA 1200 ATX Motherboard from ASUS features boosted power delivery and an optimized cooling design with an even greater surface area for improved heat dissipation. It also delivers AI enhancements and intuitive dashboards to help users overclock and tweak other various parameters more easily. The ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming fits in ATX sized cases, supports the LGA 1200 socket and Intel Z4900 chipset, and is compatible with Windows.
The ATX form factor of the ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming can support up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM over four slots, or 32GB per slot, at speeds of up to 4600 MHz. For storage, there are six SATA III 6 Gb/s ports and two M.2 Sockets with M key, one of which supports type 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA SSDs, while the other supports type 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs.
There is also one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (rear panel), three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports (rear panel), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (rear panel), four USB 2.0 Type-A ports (rear panel), one USB 3.2 Gen 2 connector (front panel), plus additional internal USB headers that support USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0. For those looking to expand their system using PCIe, there are two PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots (x16 or x8/x8), one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (max at x4), and three PCIe x1 slots.
For delivering sharp, clear graphics, this motherboard has integrated HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. For users looking to take advantage of multi-GPUs, the ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming supports NVIDIA 2-Way SLI and AMD 3-Way CrossFireX technologies.

I have a situation where I need to use WiFi to get on the network, and this board does this well. Overclocked, no crashing, no regrets. The lighting on the board is ho-hum, but I was able to interface it to the Razer Synapse software and it’s pretty sweet.
