Extend your whole-home wireless network with this RP-AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Wi-Fi/AiMesh Range Extender from ASUS. This range extender boosts the signal of your Wi-Fi router to provide coverage in additional sections of your home. It supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and dual 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for up to 1900 Mb/s of combined speed. The extender supports nearly any Wi-Fi router, gateway, or modem, but gains additional features when added to an existing AiMesh router. When using AiMesh, the RP-AC1900 supports AiMesh-specific features, lets you roam freely in your home without switching networks, and supports a single Wi-Fi name/SSID for the entire home.

Easy to install, works, but whenever my connected device is between the router and this node, it constantly switches back and forth and I loose connection for a few seconds. Very annoying.

I bought this and a new Asus router to get better speed at the back of my house. It linked to the router very easily, but I have to have my laptop within about 20′ to get a good connection. Even then, the speed wanders up and down. My old Asus router at the front of my house gave a decent signal to the same location all by itself. The new router won’t even come close, and even the extender barely does the job.
