Boost the speed, reliability, and range of your home wireless network with the RT-AC68U Dual-Band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Wi-Fi Router from ASUS. Capable of up to 1900 Mb/s of total Wi-Fi throughput, this dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router supports AiMesh technology, which lets you use multiple AiMesh-enabled routers together to create a single, seamless Wi-Fi network.
The RT-AC68U comes equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, ideal for wired connections to computers, game consoles, TV set-top boxes, or another AiMesh router. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 Type-A ports let you connect printers, storage devices, and other USB devices to the network. AiProtection Pro service helps to defend your network from online threats, while parental controls let you decide how and when your kids can connect to the internet. Up to three guest networks let you grant Wi-Fi access to visitors without having to compromise your Wi-Fi password.

I had a Linksys 54trg for years and it worked good. It finally gave out. Then I tried another brand and it was the one that was unstable. B&H was prompt on delivery and had a great price! Thanks

Router handles our 500mbps connection well. Setting it up was a problem because the Outlets are colored differently to my previous Netgear router. Netgear’s WAN is Yellow whereas Asus is Blue.

I use these routers both at home and at businesses where bandwidth optimization is necessary for VoIP systems and other RTP based communications. Even using the stock firmware, this device is feature-rich and capable of putting out a large and reliable WiFi network. That paired with DD-WRT (particularly KONG builds) makes this router just about perfect. Capable of running a full linux stack and acting as a VPN server, this router, when configured properly, is incredible value for the price.

My old Asus router finally started going out after about 12 years, so got this to replace it. Hooked into it via a cable, put in the identical settings from the old one then swapped them. All the peripherals saw it seamlessly. This one is even more solid on the wifi and faster. Love it! Just hope it lasts as long as the other one.

My previous router was also an ASUS (802.11n) unit that I was very pleased with overall. The only weakness was that the wifi wasn’t able to provide the strongest signal at the furthest rooms in the house. After much research I went with the AC68U and couldn’t be happier. The signal improvement has been tremendous. I can get at least 4, usually 5 bars in any room now. And devices that support the 5Ghz band are able to max out my cable internet connection (105+ Mbit). Setup was straightforward, the latest firmware was loaded on first login. I ran 3rd party firmware on my previous ASUS, but so far I haven’t felt the need to on this one. The standard firmware is very feature-rich and pretty intuitive. For those that don’t like to see blinking LED lights, there is a switch on the back of the unit to turn them off (though they aren’t very bright to begin with). I have a desktop, XBOX, and several small NAS units wired to the router, and several laptops, tablets, phones, and a printer connected wirelessly. Connections have been rock solid so far.

Unplugged everything old; worked instant plugged in – ZERO issues. I did our last two, Linksys, this was much easier AND is much faster from the get go! After two weeks, still no issues, went online to update router – also simple. Yay! ASUS rocks in our house.
