Boost the speed, reliability, and range of your home wireless network with the RT-AC68U Dual-Band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Wi-Fi Router from ASUS. Capable of up to 1900 Mb/s of total Wi-Fi throughput, this dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router supports AiMesh technology, which lets you use multiple AiMesh-enabled routers together to create a single, seamless Wi-Fi network.
The RT-AC68U comes equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, ideal for wired connections to computers, game consoles, TV set-top boxes, or another AiMesh router. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 Type-A ports let you connect printers, storage devices, and other USB devices to the network. AiProtection Pro service helps to defend your network from online threats, while parental controls let you decide how and when your kids can connect to the internet. Up to three guest networks let you grant Wi-Fi access to visitors without having to compromise your Wi-Fi password.

I’ve bought three of these machines and they are work horses. They work great in the AI Mesh setting.

I used to be a linksys guy, bought an equivilent router rated at AC1900, which had poor penetration and caused nothing but headaches for my network constant drops and such. Got the 68U and it was like a whole new device, even placed it in the same location, ended up having -75dBm turn into -60dBm same distance. I highly recommend this product as it has a good price point for the performance it gives out in the $ class of routers. I went out and bought a second, and ran a 100ft cat6 cable to the other to set it up as an AP in my bedroom to provide high end wireless throughout my residence. I would recommend finding a wifi analyzer app to determine what is the best channel to run your wireless on as auto does not pick the best from what I’ve seen.

Easy setup, fantastic features, powerful and versatile. I’ve customized the heck out of my home network using all of the options that this great router offers.

I installed this router with a Comcast router/modem w/5g located about fifty feet from my office in another part of a three story house. Significant signal and speed increase over the Comcast system. There are good online comparison studies that kept pointing me in this general direction and for a good home wireless network, this one delivers. Straight forward setup and control of the router through account access.

I must say that this is a big improvement over my previous router that ran about 870 Mps on 5. I have my primary laptops and streaming services hooked up to 5 and 2.4 runs all my other junk (chromecasts, alexa, printers, etc.). Very fast. I like the app too that lets me see what is going on and control the settings. Only downfall is the built in stand. It wants to tip over. Double stick tape cured that. But I still wish it had wall mount capability.

A great router for a great price. Wireless range is terrific in our office and it’s highly configurable (even comes with OpenVPN built in).

this router is replacing a DLink router. This router is extremely easy to set up. Speeds are great, as well as coverage in my house…

After having nothing but problems and lost connections with a different brand of router, i decided to go with the Asus RT-AC68U. This is the best wireless router on the market for streaming videos, using multiple devices and all your networking needs. It is very easy to set up and configure. It is super fast and reliable. Worth every cent. Highly Recommended!!!

This router could be overkill for a smaller home. Good signal. Fairly easy to install.

Very easy to do the basic setup. There is plenty more to do when logging in behind the scenes like setting up guest access and lots of controls but not necessary to get it up and running. Works very well throughout my 3 floor attached house, (1800 square feet) with just 1 unit.

Fast router with little dropped wifi issues. The attached storage works well for DLNA if the file sizes are smaller. Do expect a large mkv to play smooth over wifi to your blu-ray, for example. Worth the primo price. Set it up and forget about it. LED shut off light!!!

I would have given it 5 stars, but it does not recognize Mac OS Journaled drives. Other that that, I’m happy w/purchase and B&H photo’s service.

Faster than our wireless G router, and so easy to set up. Took minutes. Delivery was super fast also. Love it!

This is the second one i have bought. I love the range and speed. This time was much better deal. Bought it for my parents.

There’s a reason this router is pretty much the same price as it’s original release price. Besides all of the usual features of a dual band Gigabit router: It has Dual WAN for back up to a phone’s data plan if the internet from your ISP goes down VPN support as a VPN server for OpenVpn connections to it. Access to the router from external internet via ASUS’s free DNS service, externally available is there is no static IP I cannot say enough nice things about this router.

Purchased the ASUS to replace a 4 yr old Netgear that was getting flakey. Even though the model is not the latest technology from ASUS, that was OK with me. The web UI is logical and there are configuration modes to appeal to novices or geeks alike, with all kinds of advanced settings. I have much better wireless signal strength on both bands throughout my house and even outside. I’ve been using the unit for 3 months and I haven’t had to power cycle the unit at all.

Easy setup, good instructions, works fine – does not cut out. Use both channels – my printer uses the 2.4.

Pandemic-enforced telework forced us to upgrade our router from an ancient Apple airport system. Easy set-up and works just fine.

Easy to set up. Using in a Church some we needed a large range for the wifi. This router pretty much fills the bill.
