I purchased this router to replace a netgear Nighthawk. The install was easy and painless, and the speed is awesome. when I installed the nighthawk I had trouble connecting my wifes computer, the asus connected without fail. I would recommend this router.

Good simple setup router for a novice. Getting into advanced setups you definitely need prior knowledge. A good upgrade. Pros – wifi 6, wifi has greater range, simple setup, can network a drive without enabling SMBv1 despite the Asus router USB page saying you do, the ambient RGB is a nice touch and customizable through the Asus mobile router app. Cons: Not a fan of Asus customer or tech service, router manual is not that indepth concerning advanced setup, Asus router app manual is as in depth as the router manual, that is to say, it isnt. I figured out more on youtube and review sites that the manuals provide.

Ordered two days ago from rural California, and it’s the holiday season where nothing I ordered UPS has been delivered anywhere near on time; or even shipped on time. The router setup was easy on a system that is complex and was running three older ASUS routers. This model definitely has better signal strength and performance, even without any WIFI 6 components yet. I flashed newer firmware first thing. Very smooth running and snappy. Definitely worth the upgrade from an RT68 and an RT86. New WIFI 6 parts hopefully will arrive next week, and I expect even better results with them. Great company and the best deal right now! Thanks B&H. You’re a class act!

So far so good. Just set it up a month ago, seems to be performing well. Good WiFi speeds. Very colorful also.

This ASUS router replace a Norton space age looking router which they are taking our of service in May 2022. The two hundred dollar credit went toward purchase of this even more space age looking router with its interesting orange, red, and blue lights. We purchased it for its compatibility with WiFi 6, the standard that will become increasingly common. We shopped quite a few other brands and models before settling on this ASUS router which represents a good compromise between monsters that offer 8 or 12 channels and ones offering 2 channels — offering four channels, fast enough for gaming, offering good coverage for our 1600 foot house, an eye catching design, and the ability to set up a guest network. We would have liked to have the newest frequency spectrum to be opened, but we do have two of the current three frequencies: 2.4 and 5.0, if not the 6.0 that was recently introduced. .

So far this router has provided outstanding service. Remedied all the Wi-Fi issues I had with a Netgear Nighthawk I purchased two months ago. Very happy to be a new fan of Asus routers. Setup was simple. Thanks for a quality product!

5 stars for boosting my WiFi, only concerned and disappointed by no mounting otherwise phenomenal hardware!

Bought this to try to improve my wireless speed throughout the house. While it did show some improvement, it was not what I had hoped for. It’s possible that may have something to do with my PC’s being several years old, not sure. I do like it’s ability to run a VPN on the router, it helps me with regional programing issues.

Installed this to replace bricked Norton Core and it works just fine as advertised. I am using basic functionality, have not needed any of the special features, so far not a single problem. Works well. I especially like the Trend Micro integration as I’ve preferred TM over other programs for over twenty years. That ASUS tied that into this router was a significant reason for choosing this unit for me. I’ve had other ASUS gear and never a problem so expect years of great function with this router.

Can be hacked easily even after updating all security settings and changing passwords etc….

Perfect so far. Very fast. The setup is not exactly easy, but if you do the quick setup and don’t try to change everything right away, you will be fine. The app gives you as much control over the router as you want.

Setup was as per instructions. And it just works after that. I am no speed-junkie, and I only have one (older) device that uses WiFi (the rest are wired – by my choice). But it all works, I couldn’t be happier. Thank you again, Asus, for a competent product.

Worked great out of the box but the firmware updates caused my 2.4ghz devices the constantly drop.
