Upgrade your large home network speed by connecting the ASUS RT-AX89X AX6000 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Gaming Router to your broadband modem and devices. The RT-AX89X provides fast, stable, and secure wireless connections for online games, watching 4K streaming video, broadcasting live streams, and more. Featuring eight external antennas and 8 x 8 multi-user MIMO technology, this router is designed to deliver a total maximum throughput of 6,000 Mb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Speeds using the 802.11ax Wi-Fi alone can reach up to 4,800 Mb/s with compatible devices.
Computers, game consoles, smart TVs, and other compatible devices can be connected to the router’s eight Gigabit Ethernet ports for wired connections. A 10 Gigabit RJ45 port is available alongside a 10Gb SPF+ port for high-speed connections to devices such as network attached storage drives. Additionally, there are two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports for plugging in flash drives and other devices to share files across the network.

Absolutely no one knows how to set this up after more than about 4 phone calls hours on the phone and a dozen emails wasting another many hours all to no avail.I had to sent it back and buy a Netgear router! Very very disappointing support!

I have four high end Asus routers in a AiMesh network. I’ve had to RMA two of them. The TR-AX89X went into a reboot mode where it just rebooted over and over again. There isn’t a way to fix it other than sending it back to Asus.

Its a little faster than my 1GB router. Set up was easy. No password required though. And I can’t figure out how to use a password, so I guess my neighbors can use it until that gets resolved. The http website ASUS uses doesn’t work on my computer in any setting or on any browser. Why can’t they use a normal website?! So, I’ll have to call in. Software app doesn’t seem to have a password setting either. Weird. And it looks a little creepy…like one of those face-sucking babies on Aliens.

The RT-AX89X is what I needed to get my new AT&T fiber network up and running with 2.5gps speed! Using the two (2) 10gps ports I was able to use one for the WAN input and the other for the 2.5gps LAN output. Setup was relatively easy as I was migrating from an RT-AC5300. It’s also nice to have WiFi 6ax… The only reason I didn’t give this four (4) stars, was the 10gps Ethernet port is really sensitive to any movement, the slightest touch or movement causes it to drop connection, weird. I’m trying several different Cat 6A cables , but so far it remains the weak link on this otherwise really nice ASUS router! BTW, AIMesh works flawlessly (it’s just a pain to setup).
