Blanket your home in speedy Wi-Fi coverage with the RT-AX92U Gaming Mesh AX6100 Wi-Fi System from ASUS. This package includes two tri-band RT-AX92U routers that both support the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard. Wi-Fi 6 offers faster wireless speeds and greater network efficiency compared to previous Wi-Fi standards.
Each RT-AX92U AX6100 router comes equipped with one Gigabit Ethernet WAN port, four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, and one USB 2.0 Type-A port. Working together, these two AiMesh-enabled routers are capable of creating a single Wi-Fi network with a coverage area up to 5,500 ft2.
Multi-user MIMO and OFDMA technology allow multiple simultaneous data streams while boosting the speed and efficiency of the network. Link aggregation lets you combine two LAN ports for faster wired network speeds, or you can combine the WAN port with a LAN port if your internet service providers offers speeds greater than 1 Gb/s. AiProtection Pro offers protection from online threats along with a suite of parental controls. To shore up the stability of the network, you can replace the wireless 5 GHz backhaul between the two routers with a wired Ethernet connection.

I replaced a RT-AC68U router, hoping to get better coverage to my kitchen, which is at the other end of the house from the router. The RT-AX92U is an improvement, but not as much as I had hoped. So far, I am only using one of the units. I was hoping I could give the second unit to a friend, but I may have to combine it with the first to create a MESH system.

I had an existing Asus rt and liked it. Added the 2 pack with ease. I was hoping for additional speed along with the additional coverage. Both happened. Setup was extremely simple. I may cable them in the future to take advantage of additional bandwith, however, for now, they are working great. I’ve had Asus routers in the past, had no issues, hoping for the same here.

Works better than I was expecting, quick setup, covers my entire house upstairs to basement. I would recommend to anyone. This unit is a good overall unit for basic usage, I do not game so I could not recommend for that but I have a whole house camera system, plugs, switches and other devices that work just fine with it.

Beware that the RT-AX92U 2-pack is not a true WiFi-6 802.11ax system. Only the dedicated backhaul 5GHz-2 channel is WiFI-6, so if you use this in an AiMesh configuration, clients that bind to the 5GHz-1 channel will only be getting WiFi-5 (802.11ac) performance. If you use this router standalone (not in an AiMesh configuration), then you can configure the second 5GHz radio to provide WiFi-6 performance.
