The ASUS VA32UQ 31.5″ 16:9 4K HDR Adaptive-Sync VA Monitor features plenty of screen real estate for larger viewing and enhanced multitasking. While it can be great for work, it’s also gamer-friendly, thanks to Adaptive-Sync technology. Specs-wise, it’s built with a VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, which offers vivid colors and wide 178° viewing angles, and a 3840 x 2160 4K resolution. Additionally, it has a 3000:1 static contrast ratio and supports 1.07 billion colors. Once it’s connected via HDMI or DisplayPort, users can tilt it to their viewing preference.

Using this monitor with Adobe Photoshop, I’ve found images that normally pixellate at 200% don’t start until 300% and are still viewable at 400%. And with the pixel size, it’s not distracting when working close-up in an image. I’m still fighting some of the settings. Possibly the Eye Care of the monitor makes things a little light and soft. I have it side by side with my 2015 iMac 27 and looking at some of the same images, the ASUS is less dynamic. This could be just the iMac vs Windows machine I’m running, or something in the settings. But I do feel like I’m fighting the settings to find my color balance. Thus, only four stars.

Nice image. The mounting holes in the back are high (not in middle) which created an issue with my desk monitor arm. So the monitor sits lower than I’d like. It’s not a flaw, just something to be aware of if you plan to use the rear mount.

The matte screen is great for all day use, and the easily customizable settings, via a 4-way bottom om the back, provide numerous blue-light filtering levels, color temperature options, and much more. I did find. however, that the speakers do not do well with low sounds, but that isn’t a deal braker for me.

It took me over two weeks to get the correct monitor that I had ordered. The wrong model was first shipped to me. I shipped it back the next day and that went OK. It was about a week before a replacement was shipped out to me. It was shipped from Kansas. It came all the way to Nashville and for some mix up in shipping or some reason it was shipped back to Kansas. I had to wait several more days till the shipment was corrected and finally came to me. I don’t know who all to point the finger at and sometimes I guess mistakes can happen. I don’t blame Asus for the problem. In the short time I have had the monitor I have been real pleased with it. I wanted one that I could do my computer work on as well as having 4K and being large enough to watch TV on as well. This so for has served that purpose.

Nice monitor, but there is always a 3-5 sec delay when booting up. I have 2 extended display monitors with a MacBook Pro and it’s always the last to show a screen by 3-5 sec. A bit annoying but I guess ok. Also the backside mount doesn’t work with standard wall or desk mounts. I still haven’t been able to find a plate that will fit this monitor to hang it on my desk arms.
