So far it works after two weeks! We had bought another brand from Costco, but the hot water did not work. So we returned it. Then, we researched all the different brands and found that Avalon had the highest rated water coolers. Our Avalon cooler has a flat top, which is good for placing paper cups. The other brand had a sloping top — not good design.

We purchased this water dispenser in particular because of the reviews about how hot the hot water came out. Having 2 kids and making warm bottles with this would make life easier, and it has. But now that we are in 111 degree heat the cold water can be cooler. We have unplugged and wait a few minutes (like 10) then replugged, we have checked the switch on the back of the unit to make sure its on. But still not ice cold.

After about a month I noticed some of the self cleaning indicator lights did not work. I contacted Avalon directly and my customer service agent was Michaela. Michaela was so professional and courteous. After going over the issue I was having she started the replacement process. I received prompt emails through out the process, and a follow up after I received the new water cooler. Avalon and Michaela have been great. I would highly recommend Avalon to anyone who wants to purchase a water cooler. I love the self cleaning function, I generally do it once a week on a Friday night when we go to bed. The cold water is very cold, and the hot water is very hot and steaming not just warm, makes a great cup of tea. I try to remember to turn the hot water off at night to keep the electric bill down. I also love the light on the unit, no need to turn the kitchen light on. This is a nice looking unit and I would definitely only buy from Avalon again. I am very happy with the customer service and the product itself. Thank you Avalon and Michaela.
