Saw one of these used on YouTube to clean the pool tile scaling off and thought I’d try it. At first I thought it was scratching the surface but after getting the bulk of the scaling off, then I used a pumas stone to get in the grout and get the small stuff I missed, it worked great. Certainly made it faster. Went around the perimeter in about an hour, using an extension and standing above, holding the shaft of the extension to exert mild pressure. Faster speed worked best.

The Quick-Strip material is durable and works really well. The problem is that it’s awkward to control holding a drill. I noticed they had an angle grinder version of this. If you have a bunch of stripping to do, I’d buy an inexpensive angle grinder and use an Avanti Quick-Strip with that instead.
