Avanti grinding wheel is great. But I was told by some other people Norton grinding wheel can grind bigger area compare with Avanti.

used this to remove rust and paint from my hood to repaint ,, it is more aggressive than a wire wheel ,, but the wire wheel get the rust pits better .. i did not do a big area ,, but this works fine for my small job …

I had previously tried to use a belt sander to remove loose paint from my outside deck. It was a lot of work with poor results. After a bit of research I decided to try the Avanti Pro Quick-Strip Disc and was very impressed how well it worked. It does wear down after awhile but that should be expected. It does not get hot, does not clog, and will not burn the wood.Safety glasses, gloves and a dust mask are all essential.

While this worked well my issue is the design on the threads. The picture shows the old style metal nut but the one I bought is all plastic including the threads. This worked itself loose during use and chewed up the threads, not an improvement.

I needed to strip a pool deck that had the infamous Home Depot Deck-Over paint. I tried paint stripper, but that didn’t do much. I tried one of these and it worked really well. The problem is that they wear out fast. I will probably need a dozen to do my entire deck. If you have a small scale project, this is a great product.
