This is a must if you own a bench grinder. It’s great at removing light rust or heavy rust. Make sure when you put this on your bench grinder you tighten it up good. The price might seem a bit steep but in the long run it is definitely worth it.

The wheel seems to be holding well after using it for a week. They should have provided an arbor adaptor with this product. I had to go back and purchase a 1/2″ to 5/8″ arbor for $2 and then cut it down to the right length.

One issue I had installing this wire wheel was that even with the flange on the inside and outside of the wire wheel the nut reached the end of the threads before tightening down on the wheel. It was a simple fix with some old very large washers I put on the inside of the flange (between the inside flange and the motor). I have a Skill model 3380 6″ bench grinder. I hadn’t used a wire wheel in a bench grinder before and I had a bit of a learning curve before I was comfortable using it. A few wires spun out the first few times I used it. Wear eye protection and gloves when using this. Also check the rpm of your bench grinder to be sure it is not in excess of the max speed recommended.

The wheel works great, now. The packaging claims to include a 5/8″ to 1/2″ reducer, but it was not included. I had to use my reducer from a polishing wheel to make the wire wheel work. Disappointing.

the wheel needs to be rated for your r.p.m other wise it will throw the wires.pushing the work into the wheel also will break the wires.it will give the best result if you will use the ends of the wires and be carefull. always eye protection…
