It connected on an intermittent basis. The HDMI plug did not seem to fit as tightly as I thought it should, and I tried it on two different computers. I connected a monitor to a computer and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t – there was no signal. It was frustrating. I would plug and unplug the HDMI over and over again until it made a connection. Also, It was extremely difficult to plug in the VGA end since there was very little space to get your fingers around the knobs, and I am a female with very slender fingers. The wide cord was very stiff and just didn’t leave enough space. I couldn’t return it in the 30-day time frame due to an injury (I couldn’t walk), or I would have returned it and exchanged it for a different brand.

It works like a charm and does everything it is supposed to do. I did not have a need for audio.

The cable was bought to connect a 2010 & 2018 Mac Mini to a VGA monitor. The cable only worked for a few months before the flat design caused the cable to no longer work. Where the cable was damaged was where the cable connects to each end of the ‘HDMI and VGA’ connectors. The pressure put AT the connectors because of the need to twist the cable to make the connection to each devise causes stress at the connectors and separates the cable for the HDMI and VGA connectors. If you do buy, try and leave the cable as loose as you possibly can. A positive point on this cable, is that it has a ‘Chip’ build in. An adapter MAY not be needed. After this cable would no long work without playing and twisting it to make a working connection to my monitor many times a day. I bought a $10 cable from another company. That cable will NOT work with my 2018 Mac. I am still learning, but many cables will not work, as you will need adapters or chips (Active and passive cables) to make a working connection from some HDMI devices to VGA monitors. Best of luck.
