Lots of laptops only come with Thunderbolt/USB C type connectors nowadays, and usually one of them is used to connect the charger to the computer. So if you have the charger connected you lose a port. This device makes it possible to connect the charger and get Ethernet at the same time, and it does that well. I just plugged it in and it worked! Costs much less than some other similar adapters, but as far as I can tell the build quality is still top of the line.

I got this to power my iPad Pro when I use it with pro tools. I live in a rural area with a hot spot for my internet so having Ethernet for Eucon is a must.

I purchased one of these to test before buying several more. The first device I tried with was an Intel based 2019 MacBook Pro running Monterrey, and the device was not recognized. So I took a trip to the Belkin web site to find a driver, only to find no driver is provided. It is also stated the devices works with M1 Macs. So I cracked the seal on a brand new M1 MacBook Pro and the device was still not recognized. Even if a driver was available to download, that is still not useful to me because I need ethernet adapters to work without installing a driver. This is the first USB ethernet adapter I have come across in a long time that isn’t plug & play.
