If you are looking for an mid to upper level screen that is 4K and is used by photographers for post production, this screen is special. What a pleasure to have this nice color accuracy and clarity to make fine level adjustments on landscapes and portraits. For those of you that are unfamilar with BenQ, they have an exceptional following.

Awesome monitor. Use it for photo/video work and it is very accurate. Get two 4K 27 instead of a 4k 32 and you won’t be disappointed.

As a photographer who also does 4k video, I need accuracy in colors while working in Post. I also need it to allow daisy-chaining additional monitors. The colors were great with minimal manual calibration. For people like me, who love to move their monitors around a lot, I also bought the Kanto Living DMS1000 Desktop Monitor Mount and the BenQ 27 mounted easily on it and is now about to be joined by a second identical purchase, since I’ll be ordering another of both soon for my editing studio.

I purchased this display for editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. I could not connect it to my Mac Pro 2013. Is the Thunderbolt 2 port. I got no connection using the monitors Mini Display port or DP. It only works via HDMI. This was very disappointing considering the good reviews this monitor has received. Hopefully BenQ responds to my inquiry with a commitment to remedy the problem.

Even though this is a designer monitor it works well for photographic use. I have used this for post processing using lightroom cc and photoshop with camera raw with plug ins from landscape pro smart photo editor and it works great. the color and clarity are very good. The detail it shows is also a plus.

I’m a photographer and also shoot and edit video from time to time. Like every other consumer, I went through hundreds of reviews before making a purchase on a monitor to pair with my Mac Mini. I eventually settled on the BenQ after narrowing down my options to the Dell and LG Ultrafine models. I’m happy to report that I’m extremely happy with this purchase and even considering adding a second one. Text is crisp and sharp, the colours are accurate from the box and I love the 4K resolution when watching High quality videos and even HDR content. The display is sleek and the matte finish is stunning. For a photographer or editor keen on accurate colours and a high quality display, without breaking the bank for the higher end monitors that cost $1000, this monitor comes in at a good price point for the quality you get. The only drawback I have is that it’s not USB-C but that isn’t much of a dealbreaker for me.

The BenQ pilot software is not currently compatible with M1 Macs (Jan 2022). Daisy-chaining through the display port won’t work since Macs don’t use this. I did not test if usb-c to DisplayPort would work to daisy chain so there may be a work around. In the end, I used 1 HDMI port and 1 usb-c port for 2 monitors so not a huge issue on a new M1 Max 16 Mac Pro. The color is spectacular and my 2 monitors have very good neutral and accurate color straight from the factory. No more color shifts in the whites and grays that I saw on my dated Samsungs. The only downside that I can see it that the USB-C versions are way more pricey and that the stands for the monitors seem a little short. I had to put something under the stands to raise the height to the correct amount. Instructions are pictographs and left out that you have to tell the monitor which input you are using. It was an annoying 20 minutes of no signal before I figured this out.

I use this monitor as my main display for my NLE … the colors, contrast, and sharpness are excellent and I never feel like I have to second guess my colors or black levels anymore.

Doing photo editing for my photography business, I was really concerned about investing in a monitor since there are so many choices. I spent eight hours researching monitors, reading reviews and watching review videos. I called B&H for advice and opinions which I am so thankful I did. As expected, they were fantastic. This monitor has 98% exact color reproduction coming from my Dell XPS 15 Series 7590. If anything, the main difference I can see is the screen on the laptop has slightly, and I do mean slightly, darker blacks than the BenQ monitor. HOWEVER, they are both new and I haven’t changed any display settings yet. That’s right out of the box for both items so I’m sure I can achieve 100% after going through both settings. The BenQ comes calibrated from the factory and displays in 4K (after changing the default setting on my laptop). The height adjustment is perfect and the swivel up and down or left to right comes in handy to work around any ambient light issues. For my personal setup, I have a Thunderbolt 3 dock connected to the monitor and laptop. I used the HDMI cable going into the Thunderbolt from the monitor and the USB C from the Thunderbolt to the laptop. Everything works perfectly. The BenQ has three display modes to choose from but I don’t know that I will have to explore those since the default right out of the box is nearly perfect. Upon trying to register the monitor, BenQ’s website states that product registration is no longer needed so don’t attempt to scan the QR code in the paperwork in the box. It won’t work. B&H’s product information screen for this product is 100% spot on, connection ports, features, everything! This was about $200 more than I was hoping to spend but with the quality and flexibility of this monitor, I know I’m built for the long haul. Thank you BenQ for making such a quality product and thank you B&H for selling quality products! Buy this monitor!

Very accurate colors for the price. Not as warm or contrasty as a MacBook Pro…but that seems right since they tweak their image anyway. Love it so far…its been a couple years. I recommend this all the time to people that are looking for a cost effective, accurate monitor for video, photo, or design.

Great color right out of the box! Bought this monitor to replace a cheaper one that had color issues.

Brand new out of the box and the edges are darker than the rest of the screen. I discovered its called vignetting and happens because the of bad brightness uniformity. Sadly, on most monitors, you won’t be able to fix it, only decrease it a bit. So it’s getting 3 stars because it doesn’t matter how good the rest of the features are, this is a total fail.

I looked around at a lot of different monitors and I’m very happy I decided on this one. I prioritized having 100% sRGB because I’m mainly using this for Blender work and I felt that would suit my needs best. At first, I didn’t think I’d need a stand with all the adjustment options, but I find myself using them often. The 90 degree tilt it great for projects that will mainly be seen on a phone. Great monitor all around, and I’m super satisfied with my purchase!

The BenQ PD2700 performs very creditably as a display. Its 27 inches and tiny bevel sides make for great real estate. Colors are vivid. Blacks and deep black, there is no fall off at the edges. I also appreciated that it came calibrated from the factory, meaning I could immediately jump into editing photographs. So why only three stars? 1. The monitor boasts USB ports that supposedly can charge iPads and iPhones. Neither device would recharge while connected to the monitor. 2. Seeking help from tech support on the USB issue via email proved futile. They never answered. I tried calling, but after a long wait on hold I gave up. 3. The HDMI, USB, Display Port and others ports are tucked away underneath the monitor’s edge and very hard to access. During the installation, of course, you can rest the monitor face-down on a soft material and plug in cables quickly. But if you want to make adjustments thereafter, you face a struggle. 4. Per the illustration in the start-up instructions, it should be easy to connect a second monitor to the BenQ. The suggested connections did not work. Again, BenQ tech support was AWOL on this issue. To use the BenQ and a second monitor I finally ran a Display Port cable between my PC and the BenQ and an HDMI cable between the PC and the second monitor. JJF

I bought this BenQ for my wife. It is the best monitor to pair with PC. Its resolution is better than all of its peers besides it true color. My wife is very happy with it.

Sadly, on most monitors, you won’t be able to fix it. Also this was nowhere close to quality of my mac monitor, it started out good enough to go with my new M1 Mac Mini but, after a couple of months intermittent flickering and phantom text started. Poor quality, can’t recommend this.

I bought the original Benq 120Hz 24 display when it first came out and even though it was marketed as a gaming screen, it proved to be a solid, great-looking all-rounder–a very well-built and color-perfect panel. That was ten years ago. Since then, I’ve used mostly Dell screens, but I returned to Benq for my first 4K monitors, and I am extremely happy that I did! I bought a pair of these for my Linux-based graphics productivity system and they’re perfect–great color, perfect clarity, minimal bezels. Setup was simple. Great value!
