The perfect monitor for photographers. The picture is SO good. I’m using it for my 2018 Mac Mini and it is showing the perfect colors in lightroom!

I am very happy with this monitor. I thought the previous one I had was good but side by side this monitor is sharp, with great dynamic range. I wanted a new monitor for photography and reviewing the same photos compared with previous monitor I see much more detail.

B&H: – Shipping was super fast! – Everything was as described in the product details page BenQ +: – Monitor actually looks nicer in real – Colors are great. Compared them with my MacBook Pro Retina and colors, details & contrast are very similar – Easy to turn monitor side ways, up and down, tilt it and flip it 90deg. – Super easy to install BenQ -: – I would have loved the screen to auto-rotate when you flip your monitor on portrait mode -I would have loved the default display to be at 2560px, like on an iMac 27. (default is at 1920px but you can scale up to 3840px). With a MacBook Pro, using the in-between scaling options (2560, 3008, 3360px) make your UI lag. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH APPLE, NOT BENQ. Overall, I’m super happy with BenQ PD2700U display. Probably one of the best display for designers and photographers in this price range.

Bought this based on good reviews, but not as expected in my cases. The first one has unbalanced brightness near right side, so I sent back got another one. The new one is better than first one, but has unbalanced back-light, the up-right corner is lighter when no signal and no environment light. Anyway I am tired to do replacement again. hopefully this brand can improve their quality control.

Ben Q has recently come out with a monitor called the SW321C, which is a $2,000 panel that is advertised as being able to support native 24p and 25p playback for video editors. To my knowledge, none of the other monitors I researched from Ben Q (including the PD2700Q) could do that. I purchased the PD2700U assuming it could not. I planned on using it as a replacement for my old cheap Asus as just a computer monitor with great 10-bit 4K color. But, to my shock and surprise, this monitor COULD handle an HDMI output of 2160p @ 23.98 fps from a BlackMagic Intensity Pro 4K card. So amazing to find a monitor at this price point with 10-bit color, 4K resolution, full REC709 coverage, and factory calibration that can also serve as a client monitor for offline editing.

The BenQ PD2700U hits the sweet spot for vivid colors. Out-of-the-box, the 350cd/m brightness is brighter than Dell U2720U. This means that darker details are more evident on the BenQ PD2700U. My disappointments with the BenQ PD2700U are: – USB-C ports: not included – USB-B ports: no use for me – USB-A ports: too many – USB-B cable: no use for me – I prefer USB-C upstream ports – no power delivery over USB – must use DP-in & DP-out to utilize MST – MST maximum resolution (User Guide p.35): – monitors 1 & 2 = QHD – monitors 3 & 4 = HD – KVM: must use wired keyboard & mouse – speakers: poor fidelity

really great monitor. only down side is that some of the features don’t work on an M1 Mac. hopefully they’ll provide firmware for that soon.

This is my second BenQ PD2700U and is part of a three monitor set-up with two PD2700Us and a BenQ SW271, which I bought first about two years ago. I use the set-up for everything from photography and video editing to writing and general web surfing. The BenQ SW271 cost about twice as much, has some additional features and better color rendition, at least on paper. But I was able to calibrate both PD2700Us to look identical to each other and close to the SW271, which is my main monitor for photos. Frankly, I’m not sure the SW271 is worth the extra money unless you need it’s greater flexibility and slightly broader color coverage. The picture on the PD2700U is excellent and the monitor is well made. It is far superior to the Samsung monitor I was using. I can’t comment on the speakers, since I don’t use them. My only warning for any 3840 x 2860 monitor is that text appears very small. You can adjust text size and how some apps scale in Windows, so its not a major issue. I highly recommend the BenQ PD2700U.

Got this as a second monitor to pair with an iMac Pro. Calibrated both with the Xrite i1 and they are pretty close to perfectly matched. Really happy with it so far, and I think it’s near impossible to beat the value.

Great monitor for the price. Not the latest with a lot of advanced features but dependable and accurate for what I use it for which is CAD.

I’ve never seen the detail in my photos like this before. My previous 22 Full HD monitor was a muddy mess compared to this one. I do wish I could afford a BenQ 27 4K monitor with Adobe RGB, but this is excellent!

i don’t normally do reviews. how ever if this helps future buyers then that would be a good thing. i bought this for the purpose of getting the best true perspective of my work as a novice video editor. i can say that the first thing i noticed was a huge improvement on the clarity of my text. second it is true that the pictures are very good. however i`m still not completely sold on the video quality. i need to spend more time with this. and the 4k could have been better. also note when connecting do not have more then one cable plugged in at one time. i connected the display port cable and only had partial info on the screen. turns out i needed to remove the hdmi. the ben q tech guys should have known that. any way i think the monitor is really good. and i would recommend it. especially for the text clarity, and color. enjoy.

Doing photo editing for my photography business, I was really concerned about investing in a monitor since there are so many choices. I spent eight hours researching monitors, reading reviews and watching review videos. I called B&H for advice and opinions which I am so thankful I did. As expected, they were fantastic. This monitor has 98% exact color reproduction coming from my Dell XPS 15 Series 7590. If anything, the main difference I can see is the screen on the laptop has slightly, and I do mean slightly, darker blacks than the BenQ monitor. HOWEVER, they are both new and I haven’t changed any display settings yet. That’s right out of the box for both items so I’m sure I can achieve 100% after going through both settings. The BenQ comes calibrated from the factory and displays in 4K (after changing the default setting on my laptop). The height adjustment is perfect and the swivel up and down or left to right comes in handy to work around any ambient light issues. For my personal setup, I have a Thunderbolt 3 dock connected to the monitor and laptop. I used the HDMI cable going into the Thunderbolt from the monitor and the USB C from the Thunderbolt to the laptop. Everything works perfectly. The BenQ has three display modes to choose from but I don’t know that I will have to explore those since the default right out of the box is nearly perfect. Upon trying to register the monitor, BenQ’s website states that product registration is no longer needed so don’t attempt to scan the QR code in the paperwork in the box. It won’t work. B&H’s product information screen for this product is 100% spot on, connection ports, features, everything! This was about $200 more than I was hoping to spend but with the quality and flexibility of this monitor, I know I’m built for the long haul. Thank you BenQ for making such a quality product and thank you B&H for selling quality products! Buy this monitor!

Perfect fit for my Graphic Design and Photography needs and it works great with my MacBook Pro. It comes with perfect color calibration right out of the box and even though you might need an external calibration device later on, the colors are amazing. It’s extremely easy to assemble and super light. It has great features that come in handy like the automatic brightness adjustment and even though I don’t particularly like the built-in speakers nor do I rotate my screen vertically, they might be useful someday. All in all, it’s a great monitor with great 4K quality at a really reasonable price.

I really like this monitor, and I think it looks great. It is, however, advertised at 100% sRGB and Rec. 709 coverage, which I was not able to get out-of-the-box. Calibrating with a Spyder 5 Pro, I can only seem to get up to 96% sRGB with the monitor in it’s Standard mode and the computer manually set to push 10 bit color in NVidia Control Panel. I can, however, get up to the 100% sRGB coverage if I leave the computer at the aforementioned settings, put force the monitor into HDR mode (it will auto-detect HDR from the video signal, or you can manually turn it on in the settings). Like I said, this gets me to the 100% sRGB, but…. It feels like there’s a good chance this is causing other problems I haven’t discovered yet. I have a call into B&H Support on this, but I haven’t resolved it yet.

Great monitors. 4k image is stunning, and the color accuracy of the sRGB mode is fantastic. The HDR mode is also amazing. I bought two of these for my dual monitor setup, and regret NOTHING. I’ve had these since late 2018, and no dead pixels or screen issues yet. These are not marketed as gaming monitors, but as a frequent player of Rocket League and PUBG, I’ve had zero issues over refresh rates.

I purchased this screen to replace a screen that was not functioning with my HOA security cameras. We needed to be able to put up multiple camera views at once on the screen. It does the job at a good price mark.

I can’t honestly give this monitor more than 3 stars because the screen displays a color bias from one side of the screen to the other. It is green on one side and magenta on the other. For a monitor that is sold for photo post pro work this is unacceptable. Also in manually setting color there is no adjustment for contrast. Very strange. Other than these issues it has worked as promised.
Ansley Price (verified owner) –
I purchased this as my other monitors were all over the place with color and contrast and will probably invest more in calibration going forward but right out of the box I can see a big difference and will improve my editing workflow.
