Take advantage of enhanced color accuracy and a variety of viewing modes with the PD3200U 32″ 16:9 4K IPS Monitor from BenQ. This 4K monitor supports 100% of the Rec. 709 and sRGB color spaces, as well as supports Darkroom, CAD/CAM, and Animation display modes. A built-in KVM switch makes it easy to control two different computers from this single display using a single mouse and keyboard. Additionally, the PD3200U features DualView mode to display content in different viewing modes, such as sRGB and CAD/CAM alongside one another. Switching between viewing modes has also been simplified, thanks to the included Hotkey Puck, equipped with programmable buttons to quickly adjust the displays settings.
The PD3200U features a 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz native resolution, along with a 1000:1 contrast ratio that provides a clear and dynamic picture. Additionally, users benefit from a 4 ms (GtG) response time and 10-bit support for up to 1.07 billion colors, resulting in reduced ghosting and a greatly expanded color palette when working in applications where color accuracy is critical. Setup and configuration is simple thanks to DisplayPort 1.2, Mini DisplayPort 1.2, and HDMI 1.4 inputs. With four USB 3.0 Type-A ports it’s simple to connect peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard directly to the monitor, while the built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, 3.5mm audio input, and dual 5W speakers help provide a complete multimedia experience.

I just went from a dual monitor set up to this monitor. The size is awesome! I thought I’d have a problem with a smaller set up but actually think the monitor shows more than my two monitor set up. The colors seem perfect right out of the box! I do plan to buy a color calibrator for it in the future but as for now…it is an amazing upgrade for me.

Many reviews I read mentioned a flickering issue related to some firmware that required a manufacture update. I really wanted to avoid going through the process of sending the monitor to be updated, so I contacted BenQ and BH to verify if the monitors in sale at the time had the corresponding update. BH representative was very helpful by providing the day in which they received the last batch and BenQ confirmed by the batch day, that all those monitors were already updated. So I bought the monitor. It’s been about a month now, and I have No complains nor flickering until today. I hope this review helps others decide. If you are a designer or photographer, I really recommend this monitor. Quick note: if you are using a PD or HDMI cables different than the provided ones, make sure those are compatible with the latest ports standards. If your monitor does not display or flickers change the cables

Awesome color accuracy and great versatility in switching modes if you happen to edit video/photo and do animation work. Great design and it’s nice that this display has usb ports and a SD card reader as well. This display does have built in speakers which is nice but the quality in my opinion is very low. Not a big issue with me as I bought the monitor for the display not the sound quality. My biggest hangup which really should be known to all is this particular model requires a firmware update to resolve this intermittent flicker that occurs when using the display. Not a showstopper from doing your work but it does get annoying and since you invested $800+ in a display, this shouldn’t happen. The biggest headache to this firmware update is that the display needs to be shipped to BenQ to be updated. I would assume your best bet is to order this display then immediately contact BenQ and issue the RMA and just ship it to them to get it taken care of. Besides the firmware update this is an AWESOME display.

I had decided to change from my old 1080P TV monitor especially to do photo printing and editing. I ordred via phone. The first agent suggested i should talk to their monitor sales rep. I was connected, and he listened carefully to what i wanted to do. he told me quickly that the monitor I had selected was not going to do the job satisfactorily and explained in detail why. Instead he suggested this monitor which I ordered and it does exactly what I had in mind with admittedly better performance than the one i had chosen. I have done business with B&H for decades. They always try to do what is best for the customer and stand behind it. Thanks!

I think this is a solid choice for a video editor who doesn’t want to spend thousands on a monitor. It’s very easy to adjust, both the stand and the screen settings. My one complaint is that when I used it to edit a project with a multi-cam view of 4K footage, it frequently flickered red on the right side. I no longer edit multi cam shoots very often for obvious reasons, and I’m not sure why that gave the screen trouble, but it hasn’t happened since. Other than that I like it very, very much.

I purchased the BenQ 3200U as an external monitor to my MacBook, especially for photo editing (using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop). The resolution, clarity, richness, and depth of the photographs are amazing, so much so that, now I’m going to have to go backwards and re-do a number of my photographs. (When I worked on these using just my laptop screen, well, I couldn’t see all that I needed to see!) EXP: Grasshopper edited on my BenQ.

The BenQ 32 inch monitor really is very large and you should be sure you really want to go this big. On the other hand, it’s really easy to have multiple applications running and be able to see all of them easily. I choose the BenQ over some of the other good photo monitors mostly because of the built in KVM switch as I use two computers all the time. The KVM switch is good, not great – it seems like I have to use a two step process to switch machines and it seems like sound switching isn’t supported. It’s a little difficult to set up (or I found it so) because the configuration isn’t as clear as it could be from the manual. Which ports are input and which ports are output aren’t well identified and it took a few tries to get the switching set up right. Sound may or may not switch, as I couldn’t experiment with the configuration to see which ports went where. Then there are other ports (the side USB and SD card ports) that are unclear how to use. I put the Xrite Display Pro on the screen after it was set up and the color calibration was spot on out of the box.

After one week, seems great. Using it for photo editing. Beautiful color accuracy and sharpness. It was necessary to upgrade my video card in order to use display port connection and obtain 60Hz.

I upgraded from a 24 1080p monitor, wow what an upgrade! I wanted quality monitor with more real estate and it delivers. Still a bit pricey but saved myself $400 going with this model instead of the newer thin bezel one. I like all the built in ports (2 hdmi, display, mini display, usb, and sd card). I use the SD card slot all the time. The hockey puck controller can be useful if you want to connect multiple devices. Only cons: older style, no usb c, and the base takes up a lot of desktop space. Good for professional work without being overly expensive.

Have it connected to two computers one doing video the other stills easy switching between the two. Screen looks awesome! Excellent for professionally editing photography and video as well as digital illustrations. Fast delivery easy ordering.

The flicker rumor is real.. very distracting. First one I ordered came DOA in the box, the second has very sever flicker. The color overall on this monitor is very poor. Perhaps its good for photo editing, but I do not recommend for video as its just slightly yellow even after calibration. Get an LG… they are way tastier, less bulky, and color is much better.

I’ve had prior BenQ monitors and when I saw this one on sale I knew it would be a great pickup. I do limited gaming, but most of time is spent in Lightroom & Photoshop.

I am not able to compare this with other monitors. As a professional photographer/videographer, this has good colors and is sharp. Just plugged it in to my XPS 15 and it works excellent. Very happy with this monitor.

Got this 4K IPS monitor from BenQ after reading so many reviews from photography blog. It replaced 2 27 2K monitor, and needless to say that I have also upgrade my power supply and graphic card. Now I have plenty of screen real estate for the picture itself and all the pop up work tablets. The color is calibrated out of the factory and proven to be accurate per Spider X Pro calibration. Recommended without hesitation.

So far this monitor is performing as I had hoped. No flicker issues. I plan on using it for photo editing and have not done much yet but I will come back and add comments if anything relevant comes up. I had a compatibility question and used the B&H chat to get an answer. They even sent me and email with a transcript of the chat. Very helpful.

It has enough desktop space for me to have several windows open simultaneously, with text I can still read, and forgo a second monitor. The color and gamma are very accurate out-of-the-box–I do not see a benefit to third-party monitor calibration for serious amateur photo editing. When I’m just browsing or doing word processing and not editing photos, I love the low-blue-light with low brightness mode to reduce eye fatigue. The hotkey puck is very useful. The flickering issue of two years or so ago has been solved–no issues.

Needed something with more real estate for graphics work. Color is great, picture sharpness is great as well. Build quality seems to be top notch.

Ive been using it for a few weeks now and I couldnt be happier. Clear, large, and easy to set up. Very glad I made this choice. Its a huge step up from my previous monitor.

Setting up was a breeze. Sturdy base with great UI menu panel. I personally utilized the included DP connection and get 60Hz @ 2160 flawlessly. Screen real estate is amazing and if you are coming from 1440p like I am, you will find it hard to go back. If you are coming from 1080 you will be blown away by how productive you can be. I use an MSI 1060 GTX in a Aikido Node EGPU box to power my Intel Skull Canyon which is connected to this monitor. I rarely play games, but when I do, I can set the setting to medium at 4K and I can get 50fps with decent thermals at 80% and full load. And do buy from B&H. Even though I live in CA, their shipping and customer service is so much better than the other guys.
