They are exceptionally affordable you buy the set of clamping fixtures (head and tail piece), and then attach them to a length of iron black pipe (not included). A nice feature of the BESSEY “H” series pipe clamp fixtures is their height. The extra high base provides industry leading clearance from the work surface. Clamping fixtures are available to fit 1/2 in. and 3/4 in. black pipe. The Pony 3/4 in. Pipe Clamp is designed to be used on any length of 3/4 in. black pipe. This clamp has a clutch disc design for easy adjustments and can be secured at any point along the bar. This clamp meets the rigorous demands of commercial shops, school shops, woodworking or metalworking users.

The clamps hold very well and are extremely easy to use and assemble to the black iron. The pipe is not included, but in my experience, this type of pipe is not very expensive. It’s fantastic, too, since it can be easily interchanged between other pieces of pipe. That being said, you can get a handful of these and however many pipes you want and have multiple sets of interchangeable pipe clamps at a very good price.

I bought three of these for gluing up some cutting boards. The clamps are very stable sitting on a bench top making it easy to glue up panesls. There was ample room undeneath as well to add some cauls and clamps to keep everything aligned and flat when tightening the clamps.

It’s Bessey, they are great at making clamps.These guys worked well as pipe clamps and provide a very strong clamping force. The little legs at the bottom are ideal when doing table top glue ups as you are able to reach underneath and scrape off glue with the work piece being off the ground. The only slight annoyabce is sometimes the plastic bit around the metal parts may slide off but it has only happened occasionally and stayed on most of the time through multiple clamp jobs.

What I really liked about these that other pipe clamp fixtures don’t have are the feet that keep the pieces balanced and off the ground. They are an upside down V so the weight of the pieces of wood were easy to balance and easy to glue.
