They are exceptionally affordable you buy the set of clamping fixtures (head and tail piece), and then attach them to a length of iron black pipe (not included). A nice feature of the BESSEY “H” series pipe clamp fixtures is their height. The extra high base provides industry leading clearance from the work surface. Clamping fixtures are available to fit 1/2 in. and 3/4 in. black pipe. The Pony 3/4 in. Pipe Clamp is designed to be used on any length of 3/4 in. black pipe. This clamp has a clutch disc design for easy adjustments and can be secured at any point along the bar. This clamp meets the rigorous demands of commercial shops, school shops, woodworking or metalworking users.

These are my first 1/2” pipe clamps, but I own some Bessey 3/4” pipe clamps and many other clamps. I really like these clamps. They provide a lot of clamping pressure and they are very reasonably priced. All you need is a threaded section of either galvanized or black pipe (I use galvanized).

Great clamps for panel glue ups. I bought 12 of these clamps along with metal pipes for a project gluing up oak panels for table tops. These apply a tremendous amount of force! As a tip, pipes of different lengths at Home Depot are pretty much the same price. Rather than buying two 36″ pipes you can pay roughly the same for on 72″ pipe and cut it in half. Note that you do need at least one threaded end so if you do more than one cut you’ll need to use a pipe threader to put threads on an end.

So far I’ve only used the clamp once, but I like it. The little legs that raise the clamp up are super useful. It’s a lot easier to tighten the clamp b/c the handle can freely turn without hitting the table. I also have some other pipe clamps without the little legs and I like this one better.

These clamps are a fantastic value when comparing fhe cost to longer bessey or other brand bar clamps. I own a small woodshop and have used these on tons of projects ranging frolm cabinets to rustic flags and signs. Protip: the 10 foot section of 1/2″ black iron pipe is cheaper than the precut lengths. Buy it and have a store associate cut it to the sizes you need and thread it in the store for even more value.
