   This clamp has definitely come in handy the last week, and while it is light duty, it’s nice to be able to do a little work in the living room, clamp to a desk, or other for minor cutting and hand sanding when taking a break from other activities. It’s like having another set of hands outside of the garage.

   The clamp is fine, but better for smaller jobs. You have to be sure the width of whatever you’re putting in it is well within the width of the opening so you can get good pressure on it. You also have to be careful about whatever you clamp it to. Having just the one screw assembly on the bottom can put unbalanced pressure on your work table or surface. I don’t think the force of the tightening assembly on the bottom spreads out enough across the under-surface of the mounting deck.. I would also advise that if you put something very long into the clamp, be sure to prop it up on the other end so the hanging weight doesn’t disrupt the clamp..

    It is perfect for what I need. Sweating copper pipe and it acts like a third hand. You can put it wherever you want. It is a must have and I recommend it.

    Turns out that this vice will not work for my needs because it cannot be attached to my work bench. After the travel restrictions due to the virus are lifted I will be returning it and purchase a suction attachment type vice.
