I was torn between the bessey, irwin, and hf special vise. In the end i chose the bessey and i couldnt be happier. It has done everything i needed of it flawlessly.

This is a decent vise for the cost. I use it for metal working and drilling. You may want to file or sand the swivel base flat to accommodate poor casting. I machined both sides of mine on a mill. If you’re okay with the slop when rotating the vise on the swivel base, then this vise will work out of the box. If you’re contemplating getting this one or the knock off at Harbor Freight, I would spend the extra $20 and get this one. The pipe jaws are prismatic vs. the square ones on the HF model which will marr round parts or pipe.

I have always been frustrated with a conventional vise which only holds flat surfaces. Having a pipe clamp built in to a vise greatly enhances it’s capabilities. The infinitely variable angle adjustments for holding flat pieces or pipes is wonderful. I was all smiles clamping a pipe into the vise and cutting it with a reciprocating saw. Normally the pipe is all over the place in a conventional vise made to hold only flat pieces. With this vise, the pipe did not budge period. This vise is another must have for a shop. If you only clamped one pipe ever in it, it would be worth every penny! The castings on the vise appear good and clean, and the mini anvil is another good plus. I like the worm drive as well. This makes the clamping adjustment extremely smooth and accurate. I honestly love this vise!

I needed a home workshop vise and compared this to three other cast iron vises in the same price range and the others have a hollowed out portion on the front clamp. This one is solid inside out and on this one the main screw shaft and tighteners are all chrome plated. They are all cast iron but this one is the heaviest by weight and has 360 degree rotation. I think for the money it’s first in it’s class.

This vise was more than I expected, stronger and with more adjustments to use on so many different projects.I would recommend this vise to everyone.I picked up the magnetic soft vise inserts and have used them glueing small wooden projects with no damage to any of my projects.

I’d rate it 3.5 stars. Purchased to upgrade & replace an inexpensive, but solid, medium duty, China-made vise that lasted 20+ years of occasional abuse. Doesn’t seem quite as solid as I’d expected – and doesn’t seem to be as well machined as the one it’s replacing. For home shop use, it will probably be just fine, though I haven’t had the opportunity to put it to the test, yet. On first use, the friction locks for the rotating jaws held it in place, but I sensed there may be issues with more use.

The concept is great in that the vice clamp can rotate 360 to be used as a regular bench vise and swiveled to be used as a Pipe vise. Problem is, the pipe vise has poor gripping ability. Not sure if it’s a lack of teeth or the smoothness of the teeth but whatever the case, pipes slip pretty much no matter how hard you tighten the vise. A real, dedicated pipe vise is the way to go. I know, you then have to have two vices, but at least you can get the job done.

Just mounted it today. Used it to replace 2 stubborn atv u joints. Pipe clamps worked great while beating out the old u joints and the vise clamps worked great for pressing in the new joints. I love how easy it is to change jaws. Hopefully it lasts many years.

This vise allows you to drill, hammer, pry, and cut on a project at multiple angles without the need of a second set of hands. It also holds really long objects beyond six feet tall. We easily bolted the vise onto our wooden work bench in about 20 minutes. The vise is a heavy duty tool, and is solidly made. It’s definitely a top-notch quality product enabling us to get the work done in half the time.

Quality vice big enough to do medium size jobs with dual jaws one set of regular and 1 set of pipe jaws adjustable throat with a measuring stick included

Very sturdy and from the weight, there is no doubt this vise will hold up for years to come. I definitely recommend this bench vise. Oh, and Home Depot, maybe you could stock the nylon jaw inserts instead of making me order them online? Just a suggestion.

What you see is what you get, I have used it as an anvil, a helping hand for welding.Pros:Its not overpriced, if you can get it on sale jump on it. Solid platform and materials.Cons:I feel like the shaft is soaked in cosmoline, I have sprayed WD-40 on the drive multiple times and its still still and sluggish.

Great utility vise for a homeowner at a popular price. Easy to mount and use.

Nice heavy vise, good value for the money. I didn’t give 5 stars because when I unboxed the vise and tried to turn the adjusting handle to open and close the vise it turned very hard. I took the vise totally apart and filed and sanded all the moving parts and sharp edges. I greased all moving parts and assembled the vise, it made a HUGE improvement. I can open and close the vise with one finger now spinning the handle. You can tell the vise is mass produced quickly with no attention to detail. I like to tinker with things so it was no problem for me to make this vise perform like a fine tuned car. With care this vise will last me a lifetime. Good buy.
