A valuable accessory for hardened and serrated metal jaw bench vises is a good set of protective non-marring jaws for times when you need to grip a finished surface without damaging it. BESSEY’s BV-NVJ nylon vise jaws are hard enough to be durable yet supple enough to protect finished surfaces. Easy to attach and remove, they fasten quickly onto steel vise jaws with 2 magnets. V-grooved to aid in holding irregular or rounded surfaces.

These Non-Marring pads are soft. I gave them a middle rating because I’ve experienced them to be too soft at times. When using these, you don’t want your material marked up by the vise teeth. I had to really crank down to keep the material from moving around from the pliability of the material. These would be excellent pads for working on guns or delicate items.

I had them for a limited time and haven’t used them often but their seem to be important when light grip is needed. I’m not sure how they will behave when so tight grip is needed.I like them you can easily fit them in place. No so great to remain in place in the process as they may need adjustments for them to remain in place until the needed grip is achieved.

Great solution to an age old hobbyist and DIY’ers need to prevent marring clamped work. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve fumbled around with my make-do .25″ plywood shims. These puppies are magnetic, slightly soft, and have several diameters cast into them (one @ 45°) for firmly clamping round work. Got them on sale for $8.50; suggested MSRP of $16.50 seems kind of steep. The magnetic feature is a clever convenience. Work fine on my 4″ vice (see image).
