Works, but… clamp adjustment slower than a pistol grip. Steel clamp bar is heavy. Pads can fall off. Flat face all the way from bar to tip of both moving and fixed clamp jaw would be preferred for woodworking – gluing boards edge to edge – though perhaps not for other applications. Best feature is that clamp is relatively inexpensive.

I built a workbench and these clamps were great for the glue up. They bent just a little bit I put a ton of pressure on them. After glue was dry they went right back to original form. Very happy.

If you are putting together a large picture frame or window, this could work well. If you are gluing up 16 2×4’s for a cheap table top to a work bench, these will not cut it, i know now from experience. I will be buying pipe clamps. That said, the build quality is solid and if used within their limits they should provide a lifetime, or at least a long time, of good use.
