The release bar sticks when you have the clamp tightened and is sometimes difficult to release without loosening the screw clamp a bit

Great Bar clamp. I used it to hold a couple of sections of scaffolding together. It held fine for 12 days. This should be considered a pretty tough test as the scaffolding moves around a bit. If it can hold onto something that moves, it will do fine in a static situation. The plastic bumpers are nice, as they do not put marks on your wood. Many of my older clamps are made only of metal, and they leave marks on the wood.
