Strong and easy to use. Heavy spline allows for lots of clamping pressure without damage. I like the plastic pads on the clamping surface because it prevents denting soft woods, as do many of my C-clamps. The 3 1/2″ deep throat of the clamps allows me to put the clamping pressure where I want it. Excellent for holding boards in position when gluing. All of the Bessey clamps that I own are heavier duty than two other similar brands which I own. I like my first set of Bessey 24″ clamps, that I purchased four of the 36 inch clamps.
