Ratcheting hand clamps differ in that they work in an opposite fashion to regular spring clamps. It is your hand that provides the clamping force, and the spring forces the jaws apart when the quick release trigger is pressed. They are available in two sizes; 2 in. and 4 in. capacity.

I found that without using some type of foam pad I wouldn’t get the “clamping” I need to secure something like under the cabinet lighting. Keep it at least 4”x4” or the self-adjusting plates will move and slip not make a good hold. Cumbersome.

I found this product to be of high quality and affordable. It was a bigger size than I was shopping for but it gave me more flexibility and options to do more with it. The color red gives it attention to be seen and there for harder to misplace. The comfort and grip is also good and with a pinch or gentle squeeze it’s simple to unclamp in a second! I just needed two for my immediate use but purchased a total of four since it was such a good value. It came boxed as six but you might as well grab a box or two as you’ll find other things to clamp down soon enough. And they are durable. It’s 5 stars for me!

This is a good clamp to have for lighter projects. This is not a heavy duty clamp nor does it have a strong clamp strength but that is not the intent of this clamp. So it does great at what it is meant to be and has a non marking pad surface.
