Ratcheting hand clamps differ in that they work in an opposite fashion to regular spring clamps. It is your hand that provides the clamping force, and the spring forces the jaws apart when the quick release trigger is pressed. They are available in two sizes; 2 in. and 4 in. capacity.

This is one of the best hand clamps I have ever used. It is easy to use with one hand and clamps tight with little effort.

Does the job required. I’ve used lower priced items along side of it while hanging upper cabinets in a laundry room. The lower price spring loaded models seem to work as well for that use case but I can think of other use cases where the locking latch aspect would be the best tool.
