Bought one of these each for my husband & father. They get some use out of them, but generally the convenience of being able to use it with one hand is offset by the heaviness of the tape measure. Its also slow to extract & retract. I find its easier to use for little projects like picture hanging or crown molding measuring than measuring room dimensions. As a woman with medium-smallish hands, I find the weight & the dimensions are a little bulky and awkward.

This is a great tool to add to your toolbox. When trying to measure across wide spans or working alone, this tape is a godsend. A little bulky and I would like to see it redesigned for button cell batteries to reduce the size. I bought 2 more just so I would have one in my pole barn and workshop.

I went from NiCad batteries to Li for this unit, but that is probably the amount of wear and tear I put on it as a Facility Manager.Usually a crew of one on jobs, so this is essential and a time saver instead of walking the length of the measurement with a normal tape.Definitely not something to wear like a normal tape due to the actuator adding some girth to the unit, but definitely on the top of my tool bag.Current price was amazing, I bought several and gave a few as gifts.Knabber

This is the gadget guys tape. I bought 3, 1 for me and the others for fathers day gifts. I tried to order 3 more but since it was such a great deal Home Depot was out of stock. I will keep my eyes open to order more when and if they become available.

Definitely a useful tool. Not perfect for every situation but extremely handy if you are trying to measure with one hand while holding something with the other. Standout is decent but seven feet is pushing it. It is large and heavy and can be somewhat unwieldy, but pros far outweigh the cons.

Received tape just in time to measuer all the rooms in my home for new carpeting. This is the best thing to happen to a tape measure since the invention of numbers !! Much, much faster and easier than a conventional tape. It does away with the need for a helper. Easy battery insertion, hefty tape doesn’t bend or flop around like a conventional tape measure and the price is outstanding. The only way to make it any better is give it away. Thanks Home Depot

What a great deal! I bought 10 of these to give to good clients for referrals. Probably not a tape that you would want on your belt all day, but definately handy in those one person situations where a conventional tape just teaches you how to cuss. So far it works great and I’ve used it several times. I’ll definately keep mine close by!
